Default T38 Turbo

People i need some info on the T38
i wanna junk my laggy T4 and i'm sure i have read on this board that the T38 is just the job for 420bhp mark
the search option has gone so i can't use that atm

Also i have tried the force that don't work either


Would be good if someone who has gone for a T4 to A T38 could let me know if there the bollox

TBH a T38 isnt much less laggy than the T4...and i have had both.

Can't the T4 be modified for less lag, think I read in Performance Ford somewhere that much biggers turbo's than a T4 had similar lag to that of a T4 or even a T34!

Would the same principle not apply here?

when you say not much less what are we talking about 2-300 rpms earlier to hit full boost?

Just found the feature mate, its the WRC Escort one, this is how it reads:

'The turbo is from the Formula 1 cars of old, comparable in size to a T66 and with a 1.15 Exhaust housing yet, and its a big yet, the lag is no worse than your average T34!'

There you go, obviously I know that shitloads of cash have been invested into something like that, but my point being you might not have to bin your T4, just modify it!

My T38 (universal turbo special) spun up at 4000rpm,my T4 spun up at 4300rpm.

the turbo technics one spools up at aprox 3800rpm max

Gus it does of course depend on camshafts and head porting Look at rainbirds T4,spools up the same as a t34 .63

All i am saying is that there is about a 300rpm difference in spool up between the T4 and T38 in my unvaluable experience.

Don't bother with either the T4 or T38 there is a much better turbo in the for sale section that will blow them both away

Dan at Jamsport also has a T38 forsale 600notes and still has warranty give him a call on 01604 755529, thats a turbo technics one too, he loved it but engine spec has now moved on.
