Default What plugs for a 2.1 16v Zetec turbo??

Right iam curently having a Zetec turbo built, iam aiming to run 15-20psi, what plugs should i use, ive seen a few people have the head drilled and tapped to use Champion C59`s.

Your thoughts please.

Can drill and tap for cossie pl;ugs, if you do that id use NGK 9s.

I kept the std plugsize and use Focus RS items.

Not sure if you have to drill AND tap the head for cossie threads. I thought you just had to machine the head so that the spark plug thread is shorter for the cossie plugs? I may be wrong on this one

Any way, I totally forgot about that when I built my engine so shall be running focus RS plugs along with PhilM!

Anyone found anywhere cheaper than Ł28 a set fo these?

Cheers,

DC

Garage, your quiet correct, the head just needs machining, not drilling, oops, far too early! Fords were about Ł20 for mine!

LOL, Tillio should learn to keep his mouth shut

Took her for a brief spin yesturday, having not driven ehr yet (Simon @ SECS did the week before), Ive sorted the brakes so they work now .....however still gunna be ripping out the lot and redoing it all so they are spot on, but they work....so thats fine for now

Also, been working today in the hanger on my throttle body, had a problem that idle was high, no airleaks we could see, but, it turned out the throttle wasnt closing fully, so sorted that now, refit at the weekend I guess All I need now is a jubiee clip for my airfilter lol as the one it came with keeps ripping open!.

Hows yours bud?

I used to go to school with old Mr Till. Popped round his to pick up a couple of bits and noticed your name written in white board pen on the bonnet of an RST he was breaking!

Small world, eh!

Does this mean you have had your mapping done? Or are you just running her on a base map?

I'm just trying to get my inlet manifold to fit under the bonnet at the mo, so not quite up and running yet.

I have been looking at a new bit if kit to help me with my mapping though!

http://www.zeitronix.com/

Its a wide band o2 sensor/read out package with a nice LCD display and data logging facilities.

With the current exchange rate it works out at 207 quid. Bargain I thought!

Doug, sweet . Just a base map for the moment until I fit the new brakes I just received (also from Mr Tillio ). Looks very good that mate if you want a display! I will be purchasing one of these though when I get chance tyo (next student loan isnatllment lol).

Very good peice of kit, similar price!, no display though, but I will probably be making my own anyway to talk to a few things, ECU Data, GPS data etc. Maybe even a new secs monitor when they are out
