When i went out with him last Wed to the Pf meet he said he was over the moon with them
I'm defo up for going, even if i don't get to drive around the infamous ring - a passenger ride and the weekend away will be prob enough for a first timer

In reading this, what seemed to be a huge amount of fun, it's hit me the amount of dosh and margin for things to go wrong on something like this. This can prove hugely expensive and end up going tits up so not all fun and games.
Worth thinking about I think before planning to go...

1st ring trip for me. Am with Jim. Sitting in hotel room posting.
Absolutely brilliant here. Have driven 7 laps of the ring in Jim's M3, plus numerous passenger laps. Was very nervous the 1st time round as this is my 1st ever track day lap. Didnt go mad but tried to follow the correct lines and look for the dots on entry and exit to the corners. Going flat out even though i had Jim telling me its ok to do so at various points takes a lot of self beleif and convincing to do it. 1st lap was pretty good and Jim commented on just how quick i was. 2nd lap i was entering cornwers too fast and having to use the understeer to scrub speed off. No major drama's but very very exciting.
Went out with Mike R before the problems and jesus that car and driver is awesome
Si B is another weapon round the track
By the time i got to starting my 7th lap i was feeling more confident and actaully did a pretty fast lap even though the tyres were starting to be fade big time. After that the GP cicrcuit was open so Jim blasted round there. Proper exciting and the track is so wide with plenty of room. Jim is a proper good and fast driver. Cant think of anyone better to go on this trip with and have shouting at me from the passenger seat of his own car
too fast, turn in, brake, full power.
Aweosme and a proepr adrenaline buzz.
Social aspect away from the track is fun too. Meals out and trying to get round the language barrier with the staff at Pinnochios was hilarious. Garlic bread Maria?

Nice to meet the scouse crew, western lot, plloyx and Zoe, Ben, Rich, James, Alex, Gracie
All really nice people and good to be around.
Shame Jim and Mike suffered engine failures
Will definately be back.
this year if i can
Dont be put off by horror stories or how much it may cost if something goes wrong. That sort of thing could happen driving to the supermarket.
Big thanks to Jim for taking me

Just got back to the hotel, and an unsecured wireless network has appeared

Fantastic trip so far, Diva's car is driving but running a touch hot at the mo, all other NW cars are spot on, i've had the Beemer properly sideways Daz's S1 has been doing some quick laps too. Staff at Pinochio's have given mine and Daz's ladies a free bottle of wine to take home, and we've generally been treated like royalty - yesterday we were given a free pizza and a bowl or fruit. Sib & bro Sketch/Nige have been going out together and doing regualr 8:30's. Gatechrasher is loving it, learning the track and the scoob is spot on. Michael is a gentlemen, Dasiy is beautiful, the weather is scorching and i'm off to bed

..what the fuck you expect?
Mike R Cosworth...no need to speak?
Gaballys M3 (my old motor) had done 112000 miles what do you expect thrashing round a race track?
Race cars have fresh engines..ROAD cars aint meant for that kinda driving...and to add NONE of you lot are racing drivers.

phil, i think it was all those miles you did with it in "400bhp mode" that killed it
didn't know the person involved in the crash wanted to keep quiet, just looked like the usual "i know something but i'm not gonna tell you because it's cool not to" situation.
that being said, there is an EDIT button aswell as a delete button

thanks tony
im guessing what i wrote's gone for good as it was edited rather than deleted?
was probably all bollocks anyway, i had a few shandys lastnight
for those interested in what i do next, well im not really sure. getting the engine rebuilt doesn't seem like a sensible option as it'll cost the same as the car's worth. putting a 2nd hand engine in could be a plan, but then so is selling it like it is. shame really, as the rest of the car is still really nice so seems like a waste not to resurect
