OFFICIAL UPDATE:
A spokesperson from the LeeR21 group has stated via sms that they are now home. It is alleged that the RS4 was stonking the whole time and the rest of the group had a great time. Cracking update.
The ring looks pretty damn shut at the moment, hope all are ok..

ok people can we please stop gossiping about accidents ect im sure true details will be puit forward but as for now individuals dont want it broadcasted on the net , so could be decent and leave it alone folks

anyway, let's hope it was just a 'joke', although there is normally a reason to knock out the bottom end (not enough oil, oil too hot and thin etc). are m3's known for having a poor sump design that can't handle corners? the 'ring is fairly unique in that the oil moves around a lot in the sump with the cornering forces and the gradients

All will be clear in the next 24 hours mates as soon as the person posts him/herself.
They wish for it to stay under wraps until the vehicle is back in the UK, I am sure you all understand how sensitive the matter is.

Got home this morning at 3am - had an absolutely awesome time out there this weekend. Weather was brilliant, company was hilarious and the taxi was faultless!!
Good to meet a couple of new people in Pinocchios - Porkie, Maria, Nath - has to be said the service there was shocking this time round as was the food - frozen lasagna & cardboard garlic bread didnt go down too well at all.
I just want to say a big thanks to my mate for letting me do a lap of the ring in the RS4 - what a capable car, wads of grip and very forgiving as well as being very comfortable inside.
Got lots of pics & vids that I'll upload when I have the chance over the next few days.
Shame about the people who had issues parts can be replaced - lives cant.
Paul - no mate wasnt the RS4 that crashed - didnt lift the bonnet of that car all weekend - petrol flap seemed to be getting opened a fair amount though! LOL!
Roll on the next one!

Yeh.....it does a litre every 3000 miles or so roughly - it was checked before the trip - and wasnt knocking when I got dropped off anyway - its got that many sensors shoved up its arse I'm sure it would of notified us of it anyway! LOL!

for those interested in what i do next, well im not really sure. getting the engine rebuilt doesn't seem like a sensible option as it'll cost the same as the car's worth. putting a 2nd hand engine in could be a plan, but then so is selling it like it is. shame really, as the rest of the car is still really nice so seems like a waste not to resurect

Right, well here is a few minutes of video footage of just general arsing about really!
And a few seconds of the ring itself!
Excuse some of the shaky bits.... but its quite hard to control a video camera when youre doing 150mph
Press the 'watch in high quality' tab just underneath, it comes out much better!!!

..what the fuck you expect?
Mike R Cosworth...no need to speak?
Gaballys M3 (my old motor) had done 112000 miles what do you expect thrashing round a race track?
Race cars have fresh engines..ROAD cars aint meant for that kinda driving...and to add NONE of you lot are racing drivers.

Just got back in. Mike gave me and Jim a lift from Nurburg to the ferry. Got a train from Margate after a spirited ride from dover to Margate in Ben's Subaru.
Jim's oil temps got high on the ring. He said Rich does my engine sound funny and I said yes. Was going to try and limp it back but the noise worsened and we pulled over. Ring Marshalls came and took Jim to the office and i stayed with the car until the break down people turned up. Checked the oil after the marshalls had disappeared and was hardly any oil on the dip stick. When checked again at hotel car park it was just above minimum. My guess is oil surge in the hard corners at high revs which run one or more of the bearings dry on the crank. I think Jim will get another engine as its a cracking car
Had a brilliant time and cant wait to go back.

Well I too have just got back in ! What a 5 days it has been
I've got a fair few pics to upload which I'll do shortly.
Its been great to finally spend some time with people I know and the other I didn't.
Firstly huge thanks to Ryan for the invite, good to see such a MINT car being used, by far the cleanest 3 door I have ever seen, let alone spent a few days in
Thanks to Mike R for giving us consistant Rainbird FM whenever we switched the radio on , also thanks for the laps which although involved a fair bit of traffic were awesome, the handling is right, the power is everywhere you could ever need it and your knowledge of the track showed in a big way , it was such a shame to come off the track to find what we did but I'm grateful we made it off the track without wrecking the whole engine which I think we were possibly VERY close to doing.
Thanks again to Gatecrasher for some of the most amusing laps of the weekend, it showed how good a stock Sti can be, thanks again for the drive too .
It was great to finally meet everyone else too, (sorry if I forgot anyone ) Kelv, B9KOS, Stu, Zoe, Guido, Michael, Porkie, Maria, Efe, CossieRich, Jim.
I was fortunate enough to go out in a superb E30 M3 with 310hp and carbon panels, Mike R and Ryan will confirm just how awesome this thing looked but I can't get over how insane it was on track, 8 min 14 in traffic and there was 1 accident whilst we were out, we roasted the ring taxi through the Brunnchen which was entertaining for the crowds and a relief for me as we were on a flyer before he got in our way, flawless car with a superb driver who knew every detail of the car.
I'm off to get some dinner then I'll upload these pics.
Thanks again to everyone for such a good holiday
