you have 15 days before it runs out to renew it to avoid these situations.

isnt failing to display a valid tax disc an offence as well so even if youve bought it online you cant drive it until you receive the disc?

I knew it, so my statement sticks.

"Dont use it"

Bit of a shitter now since you have ordered it online, its good doing it that way providing you order a week before it runs out to make sure it gets there in time

so knowing what the post office delivery is like you wont be able to use your car for another week. would have been quicker getting it yourself tomorrow.

forget whether its taxed with dvla or not,not displaying a tax disc is an offence on its own,not sure whether they have rights to impound it or not but i wouldnt like to test it

and if its taxed by dvla and your not displayin a tax disc then the dvla van wont catch you as it goes to there database and if its taxed then it wont register, for the sake of one nite dont risk it and get tax in the morn

Same here, done it online Saturday morning and printed the sheet off. cops wont bother as long as it comes up on the computer as taxed, or at least any decent ones. done it before and drove around for nearly a week with no problems.

Up to him isnt it with these mixed comments

Personally for the sake of one night its not worth being caught and having to pay a fine.

I think he was trying to say that you can renew the tax on line, 15 days before it's due to expire, not that you have 15 days from expiry to renew
