Default Quick question, caught doing 143

Right a while back got done for doing 143 in a pretty much standard ERST Now I'm like 99% sure the car wont do that, its away getting tested tho before my court case, should I be worried? lol. The car only had a chip, filter and magnex.

Already got a sweep going for what its true top speed is aswell

Not if it was reading 143 and the car couldn't do it or indeed was anywhere near it. Afterall he wasn't going flat out was he All you have to do is prove it was miss reading, or in this case spouting pub/Passionford talk

Put the car back to standard, or at least put stock chip in, if there no fucking way it can do 143 in any distance then surely there would be a good chance of getting away with it with a goof lawyer who would use that stuff as damning evidence.

Evidence that should just get it thrown out, as if it read wrong it could be any speed, under or over the limit.

And TBH, even at your spec, a TRUE 143 is pretty good going, innit?

You have to prove that the equipment used was not accurate.
The same as you smash a window you infront of a copper you have to prove that his statement was not accurate or correct.

Unless he got a nip then it dont matter what he does.
I could have a ferrari 360 get done for speeding then put a 1.1 in it but it wouldnt prove shit. As it's an nip you have to prove on the day that you was found speeding that the car couldnt arrive at that speed. Which let's face it is nigh on impossible.
Sorry mate but take it on the chin

so say your driving christians rs turbo & you get caught doing 170mph,

cops come trying to bust you for it, you can simply go change the engine to a 1600 carb & they'll let you off cos it will never do 170??

every body would be doing that would they not??

Not if the gun was checked as it should have been you will get done regardless. Saying your car wont do these speeds wont help the offence is exceeding the 70mph speed limit the 143 is the speed caught. D*** was caught doing 169 & was stated as going South on the motorway & not North the judge said whateverway you were going you were stopped exceeding the limit 2k fine/6 months ban. Get someone to represent you it stopped D*** going down for 3months.

You will not win unless you have a 5k breif,
If they are only doing you for speeding plead giulty take your 3 to 6 month ban like a man and get on with your life,
Nothing else will work so dont even try and dont waste your money.

I love all this Passionford legal bull shit that comes out

I have seen case law on just such a topic.

A chap driving a 1.2 Punto, got clocked at around 120ish. He was adament the car counld not pull such a speed. He contacted Fiat, and had his car indipendantly tested. End result. No conviction. You have prooven without reasonale doubt your car can't do that speed. The speed detector therefore must of been faulty.

MAD boys you build great cars and engines, but leave the legal stuff to us that know

i'd agree with that statement

if you can say that your acr will not achive the speeds they claim then there is no way you can be done for doing those speeds

I have seen the Police before contact Vauxhall to find out what brakes came on a 1989 1.0 Nova. The kid had put 2.0 brakes on (as well as the engine), and because he hadn't declared them to the insurance he got six points. I would of thought the Police would of been happy he upgraded the brakes

The same happened to me years ago (1990) when I was caught doing 140mph in my Renault 5 GT Turbo.

I proved that it simply wasn't possible to do that speed in a '1400cc hatchback' ...... in standard form!!

What I didn't own up to was...... the big intercooler....hybrid turbo....groupA carb.....ported head etc etc lol!

I got off with a Ł40 fine because I had admitted to doing 'about 90mph'..... well I didnt want to completely take the piss now did I ??

Even had the jury come outside and take it in turns to sit in the passenger seat to see that the speedo was visible from it as to verify the statement of my passenger that I was doing only 90mph. Lol, what they didnt know that the guy in court as my "passenger witness" was a DIFFERENT guy to the one who was in my car when I was doing err.... 90mph, lol!!

I'd say fight it. What have you got to lose.

Our prisons are full of bum sex offenders anyway!
