To remove the old bearing can I use a hammer and screwdriver and put the new one back in using a mallet like I did on my Corsa? Or does it need to be pressed?

you should be able to do it like a corsa one i did mate

Easy to do mate just use a good screwdiver or a chisel and knock the old bearings out. Use some sockets to refit the new bearings.

thats how i do it mate, put the drum in a vice and twat it out with a punch.

to refit, i use the old bearings to drive them back in (need to tap them out a little bit again, but i find its the best way)

Cheers guys I did it Friday afternoon. I finally bought a Haynes when I got the bearing. Used a piece of metel between the oil seal and the mallet.

I'm chuffed I saved some money on labour and the problem is cured.
