Default Petrol question

Does anyone on here know much about bioethanol petrol. One of the petrol stations around where i live have started selling it. They say its 99.2 octane and better than the regular petrol. Was thinking about using it but would like a little more info about the stuff, eg is it shite, does it do damage to the engine or is it ok to use?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers lads

You need a "flexi-fuel" car/engine to run Bioethanol, you cant use it in a normal engine.

Yes it will be fine, I use TESCO 99 and swear by it, even doing a 20 mile round trip just to fill up!!
Dave Walker from PPC has been doing some research on this recently with astounding results, more to come later in PPC.

If you look in this months Retro Ford magazine they've done a feature with Field Motorsport and some lairy YB on the dyno.

Testing with 95RON unleaded, Tesco 99RON, BP Ultimate & Shell V Power.

The V Power whupped everything.

I think you could be doing 20 miles for not a lot Tabetha....

I know Dave Colledge from Retro Ford (Corby), not the magazine, has recently had his Duratec mapped by Dave Walker and had his Emerald ECU upgraded to incorporate the new Switchable Map feature and he has a map for 95, 99 and this Bio-Petrol.

The Bio Petrol gave Dave C a decent lift in power over the other fuels but I thought it was somewhere near 106 RON, it was almost like a race fuel.
