Rich, the L8 AND P8 ecu's are more readily live mapped due to ease and available software.

going by past posts from Simon, most the cossie rang of ECU's are live mappable - with the correct equipment.

Simon, gladly correct me if im wrong

Kelv,

Spot on.

CossieRich,

A brief explanation....

Any ecu can be live mapped with the right equipment if the ecu
doesnt have onboard facilities to do so.

This is done with an EPROM EMULATOR (cost about Ł400-Ł1000)
But you need to know how and where the correct memory locations are.
This is the bit that costs the money in experience/skill etc...

All OEM cosworth weber ecu.s once mapped, need an eprom programmer
to make the changes permanent. (Ł250 - Ł800)

L8 and P8 with PECTEL software can be adjusted on the fly with fuel and
ignition trims without any special equipment but will need a programmer
to make changes permanent as above as these adjustments are lost
when the power is removed.

After market ecu's contain FLASH memory which do not require power
so when live mapped, the data is permanent and dont require any extra
equipment except a PC and a lead.

Dependant on your tuner he may not like what youve just said!!

sounds good quoting lots of inlet and exhaust parts but it doesnt always equate to more power!

i would probably go for just a bd12 inlet cam and light blues, if that is do-able, may make the transmission last a weeee bit longer , id be happy if i could just make it quicker than a stage 3 car ,too many other cars can run with me at the mo, i just want a little bit extra......

Ask Stu to do a Greys chip for you, bd14 inlet if you have pocketed pistons which i asume you have with 7.2:1 c/r and have a massive boost spike of 33/34 psi. Or change the exhaust housing to a .55 or .63 so you can hold ontot he boost higher up the rev range. Or seeing as you have a flowed head get a t38 or gt30 depending on your budget and see what Stu can do
I got closed loop done by stu the other week with my .55 and he said it was about 380 bhp after he finsihed his custom (not live) map.

Thats with a standard engine but he used siemems 'black' 55lb injectors instead of greys

Thats good to know Si. I thought the L6 was just not capable of being mapped live due to the hardware inside it being to shonky. Cheers Simon

Well said

Its my cars Pete's talking about, as i see it the oringinal question was what power can a T34.48 make. Answer around 380bhp max.

Thats all Pete said, greens can't do it light blues can. ONLY A COMPLETE AND UTTER TWAT WOULD THINK 'FOOK ME BEST TELL HIM HE NEEDS A RE-MAP TOO' BECAUSE HE MUST BE THAT THICK NOT HAVING POSTED 25 BILLION TIMES

Ahhhhhhh but then the wisdom of L6 can't be mapped......quality
