Default My new engine spec what you think......

Right I buggerd my engine up in May (spun shell ). what a great time for it to go

anyway these are my plans.

1, The head will be ported and the plenum chamber matched to the head but with standard valves, BD14 inlet cam standerd exhaust.

2, The block will be rebored to +50 and have Mahle pistons fitted, I considerd Cosworth pistons but was told they was very noisy and about £200 more.
I have been told to use standard head bolts but Iam not sure if this is best.
I will be using a windage tray and a Group A sump, ARP big end bolts.

3, My head gasket was going to be a thick Cometic gasket but Iam not sur now, maybe I should use a Mountune WRC instead?

4, All the other gaskets on the engine will be Cometic as well ( I have not heard anything bad about them yet )

5, Bosh GroupA fuel pump and will be using A Group A oil pump as well.

6, Injectors will be Xo39's if I can find some or Greys if I can't

7, Turbo will be my T34 or a T34 wih Maram shaft so I can run Anti Lag as well.

8. RS 500 Radtec intercooler.

9, when all run in it will be live mapped.

Iam hoping with this set up to be ablle to do low 12's on the quarter mile. do you think this is possible on this spec ?

cheeRS Dave.

PS My car is a Escort Cosworth for those that don't know me.

The mahles are good enough for over 500hp, just make sure c/r is right

The head and cam choice is perfect.....BUT watch out as the BD14 will touch the piston unless you have cut outs...std springs will be fine too.

Pistons are fine...BUT if you get genuine cossie racing ones from GGR they are machined and will not be noisey.

At your power level std head bolts will be fine..if you can afford it go long stud though especially when using a metal headgasket as these do require more clamp.

Everything else is fine...and should see a nice solid 400bhp

Your missing some very important info here Dave..

Ported to what spec?

Compression Ratio?

Ecu?

As well as the uprated fuel pump, i recomend you rewire it as well if going to greys/larger.

look at the quality of them rich, they are utter shite. I opted for gaskets from cosworth racing and they were 1000 times superior

the cometic ones looked like wafers coming apart

give cosworth a bell and get them from there

8. RS 500 Radtec intercooler.

9, when all run in it will be live mapped.

the way i see it - you pays ya money and takes ya chance - some get it right some have continual problems !!

good luck !!

looks like we are here again with people slaggin products theyve not tested

how do you know i havent tested them

how do you know that i didnt buy a complete cometic gasket set, fit all of them and have the exh manifold blow around the exhaust ports

how do you know i didnt take the manifold off, check the gaskets and find they were like kellogs cornflakes packets pritt sticked together with tin foil

and lastly, how do you know that its not the case of them being thinner.. its actually the QUALITY of the cosworth racing ones compared to the utter shite cometic ones

have YOU actually tested them?

Using the singer air injector is fine.....i supply these babies and can be used singular or dual....and i am sure GGR are using the same gas injector as its the only avalible suitable injector!

Exhaust gaskets just use std Ford Cossie ones..i never had a problem with them.
