159 mph Copper
He's probably been on a paid suspension for the last 2 years so although he's still a trafffic cop he hasn't actually been doing much work due to the pending court case. And now he faces disiplinary procedures from his force which will probably end up in dismissal. Can't really have someone with a dangerous driving conviction as a traffic cop can they.
Also according to tonights news it was a 60 in a 30.

I'll correct you on that he actually handed the tape in himself !
There are a lot of speculations etc about what happened it actually stands as a vendeta from one senior officer that holds a grudge against mark .

Lets be realistic, being a trafic copper is all about being able to drive how you want where you want, I bet they've all done it at one time or another ( I know I would of
)
I'm not saying its OK but just looking at it with a bit more realism, I think the conviction is just for the general public, so they can say in the end he was convicted for it and that more or less ends the argument the public has. Although he'll probably get a slap on the wrist, I wouldnt expect them to take him off traffic duty, to much money wasted training him.

total disgrace ..
once again the legal system in this country is a fooking joke ..
if you have money a position of power or a law enforcment person ... you will get away with most things
makes me mad that someone can go 3 times the speed limit (90 in a 30) and walk away with it because he is a copper ..
i do not give a fuck if he is the best driver in the universe .. there are other road users who are complete numbnuts ... as a trained driver he should be aware of this and not endanger any of the members of the public ...
as for the users giving it the
no your right we have all exceeded the limit at some stage BUT there is a difference if we get caught we will get shafted .. as an officer of the so called law he should be made an example of to show that it is not acceptable to do so ...
Passing sentence, Mr Wallis told Milton: "Your driving falls far beneath the standards expected of a careful and competent driver."

I think fair play to him
How many of us have done the same in work / company cars / vans ?
And if we had been caught, i know i would try n e thing i could to get off the speeding charge, just has he did, and seems to be pretty much winning so farr
Also, they were saying on the radio, that he was one of the country's highest trained police drivers, and he was in a brand new car.
Now don't you think he would have accessed the risk of doing 90odd in a 30mph zone, 1st ly we dont know what that road was like, was it in the middle of a house estate, or one of them silly 30 limets that could easily be a 60mph (we have loads like that round here
)
And 159mph on a motorway, i know several people who have "claimed" to do that speed + on the motorways, at 3am, is it really that bad a thing ???
AND, if it was his 1st time in the car, wud'nt you rather he chose some quiet roads in the middle of night to speed, and get used to the speed, and the feeling of speed in a slightly different car, or when he has to chase a stolen car down a busy highstreet in the middle of the day ??
I still have mixed feelings about this, and i agree, the law is the law, and he should be punished, but i break it daily, as do 99% of people on here.
If he got banned from driving / loose his job etc etc, then we have just lost all the money WE payed for him to train up as a cop etc etc
and i think we need all the cops we have on the beat, and shud'nt be fucking around trying to get one sacked.
Should keep this going to page 6 atleast

He hasn't been let off. He has been convicted of dangerous driving but received an absolute discharge instead of any kind of punishment. He will still face internal discipline issues with his Force and increased insurance premiums etc in his private life.
