Default Zetec Turbo Rev Limit - Whats yours set at?

I've set mine to 7800rpm as it was just hitting the limiter in forth over the quarter at 7200

Just wondered what others are running?

Surely this is shuold be governed by the engine components rather than rasing it just to have few gear changes up the quater...?

Are you going to go to Ford Fair this year? Would love have a nose round your car in the flesh.

Whats the mean piston speed in m/sec @ 7800rpm??? We can compare it to some other engines with similar designs.

The engine stands me at a fair bit. Crank was sourced in the UK.

I will be at Ford fair on the Sun, Racing at USC at pod on the Fri and Sat so will drive up on the Sun if I dont break something.

Not done the calculations for this engine yet

22.88 m/sec.

From memory, when i had the long stroke motor in my super mono race bike i used to run 25/26 m/sec.

F1 engines run about 27 m/s.

I think there is a kinda limit buffer that they run into that is all to do with pecentage of the bore that can be filled with valve area and the physical limits of how fast you can move a volume of air through it.

Its not governed by material properties any more, as it was in the old days.

I have dragged that right out from the back of the grey cells so dont take it as gospel. If i have a spare min i'll look it up again.
