Default NEED advice - Re Engine just been rebuilt.

Ok here is the situation. A friend of mine has just built his cossie engine (4x4 saph) back up from all new parts. He took a week off (he works for Ford) but is having a few setting up issues.

The car starts and idles perfectly but soon as he tried to drive it, it hesitates and lacks any form of power. it sort of coughts and splutteres.

His had roughtly from what i can remember

.5 oversized mahle pistons
whole bottom end rebuilt, crank etc.
T34 Hybrid turbo
RS 500 pace intercooler, Pace Rad and Pace turbo cooler.
Full Samcos
Oil seperator
Grp A fuel pump
3bar
new alcon 6 paddle clutch.
NGK brc8es plugs (just while his running in)
standard 4x4 cossie injectors (blue? again just for running in)

We cant find any air leaks.

anyone got any suggestions on what to check first? he doesnt really want to spend any more money if he can help it as its already cost well over £4.5K already (thats with him doing the work himself).

My cossie acted a bit like this and it was down to fueling? and his is behaving the same way. but what to do?

sorry if this sounds stupid but any suggestions/ideas i can get him to check would be great

cheers

Paul

has he put the pipe onto the fuel pressure regulator?

or has he left anything else disconnected?
sounds like i know what it is but i haven't a clue as to what the cossie enge would use but it's a flat spot caused by fuel or something (carb boy at heart )

map sensor is new

if your accellerate gently, soon as it hits 1/2 bar of boost it totally pops and bangs

he has made it run a bit richer and that has helped very slightly but still running like a dog

apart from the rebuild with new parts the only thing different is a 3bar map sensor as opposed to a 2bar.

he had the standard chip, injectors and the t34 before the cambelt let go and it ran perfectly?

so could it be the fact his put the 3bar map sensor on the car with the standard chip and injectors?

If he put a 2bar back on while his running it in should that solve it?

once his run it in he was going to get a chip, and injectors and fit the 3bar.

If he has a chip for the 2bar, then yes, that's your problem.

cheers i got the idea from what u said he will limp the car into work (its about 2 miles max) and then test all mentioned above but i guess it will be the 3bar causing the issue
