Probably the best £200 anyone doing thier own car maintenance can spend
I've had mine best part of 6 years, maybe more?

I've broke torx bits a few times, even a ratchet and have always just walked in, spoke to someone, swapped parts over and walked out

Today I've walked back in with a ratchet with a screw missing ( fell out and can't find it )
And the socket that holds all the screw/ torx bits, the clip that holds the bits in has broke
I expected just a screw and a clip

I've walked out with a new ratchet and a replacement socket is on order!


I really can't fault this lifetime warranty Never had a quibble off any of the staff I've approached with a warranty claim

Halfords tools are very good, I've got a tool box full of them at work, they are in use all day every day on heavy machinery and I haven't broken anything yet!

Funny that, my local store would not talk to me without the receipt.

Even though it says on the stuff Halfords professional.

I've got a bit of halfords professional in amongst all my snap on gear at work and it does the job just as well to be fair. Also handy I've got a halfords trade card so get a fair discount

I only buy halfords tools haven't broken anything yet, even the ratchet spanners take alot of abuse.

They have a disclaimer saying the warranty doesn't cover moving parts but my local store says just bring whatever it is in and we'll swap it and they don't ask for a receipt.

I've got a trade card aswell saves me quite alot

Trade cards are great, even for bulbs where you pay about 20p for a pack of sidelight bulbs. Need to watch out though as when things are on offer, they can sometimes be cheaper than the trade price!

That's true Richie that's happened to me before where I ended up paying an extra couple of quid lol after that I started taking note of original price then asking how much is this with trade card lol

I brought the £200 one when it was half price (+ a extra 15% off). For my son's 16th as first tool kit, as he's going to college to become a vehicle tech.

And trade card is a bonus and now you can put your number in the website and see the trade price before you buy..

Another +1 for the professional tools. Reminds me Got a few bits to claim on when I next go there, including the box my set came in.

We use a halford professional box and top box at work (jewellery worshop) and we paid less than the cost of the bottom box for both as it was on offer. Couldn't believe the price. Excellent quality for what it is too

You also get web discounts and then trade too.

Which works out really cheap for a tools with a guarantee. I joined the trade late so never got into the snap on stuff as it was far too expensive.

I've a few bits from halfords. But to be fair I don't really need any more tools now so only buy if something takes my fancy or I have to borrow a tool.
The beauty of snap on and mac is convenience. They turn up once a week if I want something they have it I give them 15 quid a week

Andy, that is the great thing about those guys its easy and they are flexible and of course they need to make a living too....

i did not buy from snap on for around 8 years or so and couldnt belave how much the stuff has gone up.So now buy just what i need from who evers doing the best deal.As above have a bit of halfords pro stuff and use it on plant and very happy with it..

I begrudge spending a huge amount these days to be fair. But I don't need much these days. I've always said things like lever bars punches and chisels screwdrivers and ratchets/breaker bars you need good quality stuff if you use it everyday.
We have a cheaper tool guy come round called transit tools he dose some good bits. I've just ordered a jump pack off him that's about the size of a large mobile phone to use on one of my Supermotos. He said he's tested one on a transit van and it started it

I use mine very sporadically - used it today for probably the first time in over a year, maybe two. Got a whopping 60p off some £3 bulbs! Hurrah!

Probably a year ago I used mine and got about 60% off for wiper blades. Was well impressed.
Had the card about 4 years now. Guess I'll find out next time I use it.
