Default Whats it worth

Hello due to the loss of my garage and the fact that i have purchased a taylor made outdoor cover but to be honest i dont like the car out side i am thinking of selling My 3DR but i have know idea what its worth as im a cheque book machanic and it will probably not be everyones cup of tea due to the modifications.

A rough spec.
200 block
bd10 cams
balanced bottom end
vibratec engine mounts
koni's alround
B&M quick shift
tarox discs all round
bailey header tank and breather
apexi boost controller
pro alloy intercooler
ally rad
polybushed
4x4 inlet
T34-63
greys
L8 ecu with closed loop
Clifford alarm
Azev A's with new parada tyres less than 500 miles
carbon kevlar RS500 splitter
converted to 4X4 (marmite love it or hate it)
52,000 miles loads of receipts over 10K in last few years) MOTs

was last on the rollers at enhanced performance in crawley and made 417.8 BHP

The car has had paint like most but has been done to a high standard, it has never been undersealed , never been welded and is as it left the factory underneath

i am the 4th owner which for a 23 year old car is quite good

probably something iv missed but as said i have no idea.

Thanks Pete

Ps if anyone has a garage to let in sidcup let me know.

Lovely looking car with some nice mods.

I would of been interested in this if I did not buy mine a few days ago.

If that was mine I would want no less than Ł13K

Cheers

Yeah a 10k car, but I'd be wanting to know why a 52,000 mile car is on it's second engine block.

probably because 200 blocks are stronger than 205 blocks; and if i was rebuilding a motor i would do the same too

Why did a 52,000 mile car need an engine rebuild?

To be honest the question i was expecting is why is it 4X4, 200 block was rebuilt about 4000 ago at the same time as the 4x4 conversion, T34, L8 etc for more reliability for the above mods so i was told as the 205 block isnt as good.

was converted to 4x4 so the power is more usable and to be honest i quite like the idea of it being 4x4.

i would love to rent a garage and keep it and im still on the look out at the moment.

Thanks for all the replies as i was unsure what it would be worth with the mods.

Yeah that all makes sense. I only ask because a 52,000 mile 3Door is worth a lot more than even an 82,000 3Door, if everything tallies up and the car is honest, which this one certainly seems to be.

As for 4x4 conversion, well I drive a 4x4 Sapphire because the 3Door is only 2WD and I wouldn't be happy with 2WD. Though some people, especially the pistonheads-type might only want an "original" car, especially a buyer after a low mileage one. I know it's a lot easier said than done, but returning it to 2WD might increase it's value.

Some of the first YBs in 3drs didn't even last 15k so fair enough really...

Hmmm LOVE the look of the car but IMO i don't think it's worth what has been said above because it's not RWD anymore, i'd say it'd only command over 10.5k IF it had a decent box and diff.
Just my opinion though, some people might be looking for a car like this.

Yeah sure, but a 4 owner 52,000 mile 3Door sounds great on paper. But on it's second engine and now 4x4 instead of RWD... it muddies the water and a lot of the nerdy types will be put off, so it's going to have to be cheaper.

i agree with you partly thats why i asked on here and i know that for the purest it would be a no go but surely the flip side is there will be people out there wanting the drive of there saphire but with 3DR looks which is one of the reasons i bought it, also because its 100% rust free.

i know martin reyland is building a 4X4 RS500 and apparently this used to be a common mod back in the day on 3drs as so many were ending up rapped around lamp posts.

My car had 2 engine builds by 40 000miles

Doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the car, just it was tuned/driven by numpties

Main thing is how the car sits now AFTER the engine build

What box is in it ? Didn't think a t34.63 would make that power ?

hello as far as i know its a standard box but has never been launched hard as its main purpose is to pick up the kids from school on sunny days.

i would think thats the turbo is at its max but i was surprised.

Still looking for a garge so hopefully this wont turn into a for sale thread
