That's how it's designed and the cam pulleys..
It relies on the bolt being tightened correctly.

There is a procedure for setting it all up.

The procedure is more focussed on the alignment. The tightening is just a torque value (pref with a new bolt). It will be documented on google a hundred times over with a quick search im sure.

There is an alignment tool to set the Crank to TDC and another to set the Cams to the correct position.

As it is at the moment don't turn the crank, you risk damaging the valves.

Normally on a belt change the crank is set to TDC before the belt is removed and locked with a pin through the crankcase, is this how yours is?

If not you will have to loosen the bolts holding the cams in place so that all the valves close, then turn the crank to TDC, then turn the both cams to the correct positon before bolting them back down.

When I did my 16v, I locked the crank on the flywheel ring gear and did not rely on the pin as they sometimes bend and or break.

These are the type of tools needed to refit the belt in the correct place, check your engine code to make sure you get the correct kit.

Thanks for the answers. It is not the alignment that is the problem, I have the fix pin, the camshaft tools. If you look at the pictures the problem is that the camshaft pulley is spinning freely.
as i understand it the pulley bolt should be fixating the pulley by force or not...?The instructions says to torque it 60 nm and then 90 degrees. Problem is obviously to get any resistance while torqueing. Is it enough to have first gear in place to do this.. ? Or should I do it against the tdc fixation pin. And what about how to know that this will be enough when starting up the engine afterwards so that the crankshaft don’t spin without turning the pulley

There must be someone on this forum that has been in the exactly same situation, how did you do it…? Any given advices is much appreciated….

well, if you know those google sites I would be happy to get them published here. All I am finding is how to change timing belt with the zetec motor, and that pulley is not spinning freely.

The same when looking at youtube, I cant find one single movie about this problem..

Is there anyone here that has any knowledge how to do this..?

Yes if you tighten to the correct torque settings it will work, I did mine which is a 16v 1.6, but not Flexfuel.

The instructions say tighten against the pin.
As I said in post 5, I didn't rely on the pin when I tightened the bolt, I locked the flywheel.
