I have finally got my car running. The problem i have is it sounds like its running on 3 pistons and the plugs are very sooty. The AFR is About 11-12. Would somebody have a look at my map and see if i have altered a setting or tell me what im missing.

Cheers geoff

send me your msq file to my email address and i'll have a peak at it for you.
have you got a datalog too?
would be handy, but running that rich would foul the plugs, on idle i'd head for between 14 and 15 AFR, on boost no more than 11.8 AFR, cruise can be anywhere around 14.7 for economy.

PM'd

Please include what fuel pressure you are running, and the flow rate of your injectors, and at what pressure that flow rate is!

Nothing wrong with the fuel side of thing, the AFR should give you a clue of that...

Couple of things that instantly stand out............

The range on the left (kpa) should go up to 250 as you are running a 250kpa map sensor, currently you have no on boost fuelling map!

Same applies to the Spark map...

I personally would also have the RPM cells at the same intervals for Spark and Fuel tables...
I also think the spark map needs to be interpolated much smoother, and the bottom two rows are too advanced from 500-1500rpm.

What trigger wheel setup are you using, or are you EFI flywheel and CPS?

lol!
Seriously though you need to read the documentation that came with your MS ECU mate, there is too much to explain on here, and if you want to do it yourself it's the only way.

I dont know where you bought it from but if you have no docs then look at www.extraefi.co.uk as there is loads of info/manuals on there!

No worries!
Once you've had a read of how to change the tables make your spark table look like this one but only up to 250kpa interpolating the gaps, and that will do nicely to get you started!

as above, just had a look at the msq.
personally i'd alter the req fuel constant in the basic settings, that seems to be way too high, you ideally want it as low as possible whilst allowing you upto 255 value entries max in the fuel table, try something like 4 or 5 instead of 9.9, or whatever brings the idle fuelling towards stoich.
but definitely rescale the spark and ve fuel tables though.

What? lol

The req fuel is fine!
It's calculated based on the engines cc, number of cylinders, and injector flow rate, do not change it!
It looks high to you because he is only running 270cc injectors.

If the idle is rich/lean then adjust the values in the VE table NOT the req fuel setting!

on efi extra forum this has been discussed recently and the conclussion is you want it lower than the calculated value to give better resolution.
the calculator gave mine as 7.7, but i had to drop it to 3.4 to get it running better.
really was a pain to get it idling right on the higher value.
i'm not saying it can't run on the higher values, but he accuracy of the values in the table will be less as the multiplier is much more.

if anything, i've found mine to be too high really as i can drop it by 30% or there abouts before i get close to max out to the 255 values in the table, this will make the values more accurate since the multiplier will be less.

I see what your saying and yes that makes sense, although in this case I think Juffer has a lot of things to correct before he starts questioning if the req fuel setting needs adjusting lol

you're probably right, it's definitely overfuelling and the tables bins are all wrong for his use too.
that timing is really crazy lol!
would need a complete work over.
i had this problem when i started out on mine, now i can turn key and drive off without worrying too much.
