its all good now. it was a pipe on top of the rocker cover on the left side where it gose it the fuel meter.
it was run when i had it. there was a nocking nose coming from the engine, it was a the piston. so i done it now. 4 racing pistons and racing bearing regring crank, lightend fly wheel balence with the crank and cluch plate. head skimed and preshed tested new valves.
so i have 2 sort out the back lights and the back wiper motor then ready for the mot.

I have a similar problem, just had my metering head off my s1, as the push rod going into the fuel-dist was sticking, free`d it off and cleaned and re-fitted it to the car, started no probs, but when it got warm it cut out, did start again but needed throttle.
After reading this thread, it prob the co-level to low when its hot, but just wondered if anyone else had any ideas?
