Default Help needed with engine!!! Please look

Hello Guys,

I've rebuild my engine. Also used a different KE tronic system and dissy. So fuel and iginiton is out. I need to start my engine now for running in to and to go to a tuner.

BUT the freaking thing won't start

I adjusted the fuel and now it's just bangin' a little bit but not enough for it go idle. I adjusting fuel and ignition, but nothing more then just some pops. When i open throttle quite alot it is backfiring into the intake manifold.

I really hope you can help me. I hope my story is clear enough, because my english isn't really good. But i've worked so hard on everything and i really want it to run!

Please help me with some tips!

Sounds to me like the firing order is definatley out. Have you got it at
1-3-4-2?

you all right mate.

on your cam you will have a mark that line up with your head.
line them up and you can see where your rota arm gose for number 1 for your dissy.
then go clock wise around 1 3 4 2.
and it should fire up.

again nothing

Trying with adjusting the screw on the throttlehousing and fueling on the meteringhead, but just some bangs, but no good running engine!!

Changed leads, but no use
Disconnected dump valve, but no use

I got on the dissy the right-top one to the first cilinder; left top one to the third; left bottom one to the fourth; rightbottom to the second cilinder

That is the way it should be isn't it? or can it be that the roter is put in 180 degrees wrong?

I still have lots of backfire..

Maybe my crankshaft gives me problems. I have a Piper cams 285T in my car and the timing is just for running in set like normal! Should i change it? and if i change it should i set the arrow on the pully a little bit to the left or to the right?

Please Please help my guys!

i have never worked with a Piper cams before. i know you have 2 be a 100% right with them i think. like with a standerd 1 u know it is right.
if you put it a bit more or a bit less be shore you ar right. because when it starts up and when it gets 2 the right presher you might drop a rob ????
just thorght i would say that. gav

it definately sounds like the ignition timing is out.
you say you have changed the dizzy and metering unit. why? what was wrong with the original ones?
stand by the passenger wheel, so that you are looking at the dizzy,
start with number 1 at the top, work anti clockwise. if no good, try putting number one at the bottom but still working anti clockwise.
i had similar problem with a conversion i done a few years ago.

I did them anti clockwise...

Can try putting number one at the bottom.. maybe that's the problem

I changed the dizzy for a nicer looking one and the metering unit had a complete disassembly for respray, but didn't know that i had to note all the configurations of it.... So i f*cked up on that

I also think there should be a problem with ignition, because i don't get why i still sometimes have the backfire and loud bangs out of the exhaust...

But also fuelling could be way out, so i have way to much fuel so it's burning in the exhaust or a lean mixture that is burning way to slow and that's why is causes backfire and bangs...
