After having constant head gasket issues for 12 months i decided to do a build on the car, i was going to do ti all myself but due to moving house and having spent 8 months on the RS1600i i decided to hand it over to Reyland to do for me,
at first i was going to leave the car as it was bt then the slippery slope began and thisis how the car has ended up,
(in the pics thecar still needs cleaning and polishing, 3 months of dust has dulled it up)
new spec

mountune vernier pulleys, 7.46 CR
big wing sump
2wd cosworth exhaust manifold modified for external wastegate,
gt30 roller bearing turbo, screamer pipe,
83lb injectors, modified inlet manifold,
also now have full quaife gearbox, front and rear diffs
AP 362mm 6 pots on the front and a 300mm conversion on the rear
and thats it, live mapped by Karl Norris, est power 550BHP

also:
are you not running solid lifters etc, where has the rev limit been set at mate?

ah ha, the slightly smaller housing, will come on full chat awesomely quickly and with bags full of torque.
same turbo housing that doug is now running on.
i think 550bhp may be optomistic, but 520bhp should be realistic, not knocking it mate, just ive had the convo's with Martoon myself.
thats going to be an awesome drivers car, and i bet the smile will stay on your face for some time![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/roi.gif)
my rev limit is up towards 8300rpm

550 bhp from a 63 ? didnt think you could get a real 500 bhp from a 63 after speaking to a few tuners ? but it probley feels better on the road due to better responce, i was told about 480 bhp from a 63 and about 550 from a 82, not sure which one i am going to use yet and waiting for pauls car to be done so i can see what it makes and when it makes it and then i will make my mind up.
Nice car and what ever bhp it makes as long as you are happy with it that is all that matters

Neil, youve only got to look at what Stu @ MSD has achieved with the L8 of late to see why its becoming a preffered ECU over the P8.
my car had been on L8 for almost 4 years, did away with the P8 at quite an early stage.
Karl's mapping ability with the L8 makes the ECU a more than worthwhile and competent ECU to use on Martoons engines (and any other builders engines aswell)
For me, the L8 will cover the same requirements that i need as a Ł2k Autronic or Pectel ECU can cover, without the aditional costs.
it wins hands down

the P8 is a better ECU however not everyone can LIVE map them dude to software limitations (think its just MSD and Turbo systems) where as the L8 most can.
Now the L8 can run antilag, closed loop, coil packs etc there is not much to separate them with the L8 winning on the convenience of live mapping

I hope the transmission lasts, as the Quaife will struggle with anything over 430bhp
.
To see what power it will have at 2 bar, just check out the compressor map for a rough idea
