Default New L8 ALS and LC Product testing complete... Videos here.

You may or may not have read about our latest product here:

Basically, we are now proud to bring you ALS (Anti Lag System) and LC (launch Control) with the standard Weber level 8 ECU.

Some videos..

Ok, First Video is ALS.
This system is armed via a simple On/Off dash switch.

It is shown here active at Idle with no throttle at all, holding around 1600pm and generating, just under 1 bar absolute. Bear in mind this is on a T4 turbo and using one of our own modded ISCV's that STILL work just fine as idle valves.

It is NOT using a modded throttle body or a poxy modded ALS weber valve that sticks open, then sticks closed and generally acts up because they are, and always have been, really crap.

It does of course work in a conventional manner when you change gear and has full safety programming such as ALS run time outs and temperature control in place to stop you arming it at the wrong times. (When engine is at 100deg C for example. LOL)

We will be going further with this system using genuine WRC ALS bypass valves soon... but time is a real constraint to us at the moment, but this current system is a really great compromise as the vid proves and is fine for at least 95% of customers.

Its also worth noting for the nutters out there, this system will run both ALS AND normal ISCV's so no need to put up with the poor idling some of you have had to over the years due to the programming constraints of earlier systems. If ALS is active, your cars idling and cold ruinning as as per factory.

The second clip is launch control.
This has a master overide switch installed and is then activated by a PTM switch that allows you fingertip control of teh launch. When activated on this particular car we have chosen 4000rpm as it is a T4 car and needs some airflow through it to make it effective, but we can run it at any RPM you like.

You simply floor teh pedal and hold it there, and the engine will come onto boost and stay there, held at the rpm level we set, spitting and firing out generally quite offensive flames just awaiting you to lift the clutch and rocket off into teh sunset!!

You will see that it generates 10psi set as it is, but we can have up to 16 on this particular car, but that was deemed excessive due to being 2wd. Remember, this is a T4, not a little T3!!. LOL

A massive thanks goes first of all to Steve Whittaker, who has kindly allowed us to use his car as a guinie pig.

Secondly, to Nikola @ RP labs who has spent many hours programming this system and putting up with my stupid questions and new feature requests... Top man.

Thirdly, but by no means least, Simon Johnson, who, at very last minute, agreed to come up here at short notice (Yesterday TeaTime) to re write a WS coil control program for me to make it more compatible with launch control! Hes been here all day long and has only just left for his 4hr drive home.

No prices available yet as we have to work out a marketing strategy, but this system will be available off teh shelf and existing MSD customers can have it added to their maps via post. No live map required.

P.S:
Pectel datastream AND closed loop is still fully operational in this software.

Existing customers can give me their chip back and i will send it back with this system enabled and a wiring diagram to install. We can of course supply the switches and valve mods etc too. Anyone who isnt allready running a suitable map from us will have to get a map from us to, be it mail, in house or live.

Yes mate, fully customisable by me on time of programming, in case you have specific options. As are the temperature limiters.

It just doesnt have the programming space. The L6 can be converted to L8, but its not exactly cost effective in all honesty.

I nearly peed myself with amazment when I saw generating "just under 1bar at around 1600rpm off throttle on a T4" then i saw "ABSOLUTE"

Bet other people were as stupid as me too

Still good though, and LC looks to be working well.

Great work

The most impressive thing Steve, is that this is with no ALS valve or throttle body modification. Obviously with a decent bypass valve or moddded ISCV and an enlarged TB we will be in a different ballpark again.

This morning we have got her to run at 2000rpm with all the popping and banging people seem to enjoy. Impressibve for a simple ecu chip and very light ISCV modification.

Im really looking forward to results with a proper mountune type bypass and enlarged TB ports, esp as its a T4

Be fantastic to see a T34 vs T4 ALS comparison actually

I like expererments, esp when they have fire and explosions

Looks like got the launch control totally nailed straight away, big T4, limiter at 4000rpm, and immediate 10psi boost
