Default Front diff fitting / re-fitting question

OK just want to check something out with you guys.

Going by the Ford workshop manual.. When removing the front diff you take the cover off and remove the circlip so you can pull the driveshafts out ('kin messy job )

To then remove the diff off the sump you undo the bolts etc and with the gearbox off does it:- A. just pull off, or B. the workshop manual says about removing two circlips in a fucker of a position on the inlet side of the engine.

I've heard conflicting theories and TBH I don't want to fuck about with those circlips again maybe its just wishful thinking

i don't think the diff comes out with the crossmember in the way
i might be wrong though

i think the clips you are refering to hold the intermidiate shaft in place, this won't come out with the diff

if engine is out of car, you will only need to remove the housing bolts & circlip from the o/s driveshaft, diff will then pull out, n/s circlips only need to be removed if engine is in bay to remove cross shaft so that diff will fit down past crossmember

it might need a bit of leverage
sometimes it's been known that people will stick bits of silicon in just for good measure as the diff seals have been known to twist when they go in if they don't go in square

but once all the bolts are undone a little twist round to break the seal should be enough
