Front diff leaking from 1 bolt?? Anybody else had this issue?
Got an engine back from being built, added all fluids and the diff started leaking from one bolt, I removed the pan, cleaned it all up, re sealed it putting the sealer all round the holes for the bolts, I even put some sealer on the threads of the bolts.
Re fitted and added a litre of fluid the next day. It started leaking from the same bolt almost straight away. It's not coming from the sealed joint above the bolt, it's coming from where the washer touches the housing.
Anyone else heard of or had the same problem??

I wonder if there is a crack in the thread, up in the casing and its finding its way down the thread? I guess you could drop the bolt out, fill the thread with liquid gasket and wind the bolt back, it will be messy but it MAY seal it but I think I would prefer to get it all out an check it.
You can loosen the steering rack and pull it forward and that allows the diff out. You could get it checked by Bara,,rebuilt an add a strength plate whilst at it.
I feel your pain after putting it all back....been there recently on my gearbox conversion.
