Well,
How about we add to that teh fact ive been over there hoping to fit a coilpack driver today that didnt work first time i sold it to Gus, naturally i didnt want to stay there all night.

Perhaps also add to that the fact that Simon suggested to Gus that if i couldnt make it too Sheffield for 28th, he will be in teh area personally and will come and do it for him.(today on 28th)

This coilpack driver was sold to Gus by me around 3months ago, Gus fitted it correctly and it didnt work and ive looked a twat ever since and its almost cost me a friendship/customer a couple of times now as GUS understandably wants his money back or a coilpack driver, hence in an effort to rectify somewhat my friend/customer, i was driving to Sheffield (1.5hrs away) on my xmas break to fit it for him so he could enjoy Xmas without having to waste any more time on teh product i sold him months ago that doesnt work

Perhaps Phil you should stay out of things you dont fully understand?

Right lets get a few facts out here as rather than PM / EMAIL or phone me,
people would rather publically have a go in my absence from the internet as
contrary to what most may think, I do not spend all day waiting for the "FAO SECS"
type messages to appear of the forum.

==========================================

Stu (MSD) purchased a coil pack adaptor unit from myself several months ago.
This unit was not fitted to the intended vehicle and gathered dust at MSD as far as I know.
I then hear that Gus has obtained the unit and will be fitting it to his car.
About another 2 months pass and the unit is fitted to the car.
The car will not start so rightly, Gus calls me and I try to resolve things over the phone.
This is difficult to do and Gus insists that he has fitted it correctly.
(No disrespect to Gus, I only have his word on this)
Anyway, I ask for the unit to be returned along with the supplied wiring loom so that
I can retest it and be sure it is ok.
Gus says this cannot be done as the car is away (cant remember why).
After a few weeks, the unit turns up at my premises and I then had a look.
I discovered that one of the input chips has been blown up and also the guarantee
security seal has been broken.
Anyway, despite this I repair the unit after waiting for a part.
By this time it is now christmas week (22/23rd).
Gus once commented to me that I could come up to sheffield and fit the unit for him
so as there was a chance that I would be in his area over chrismas holidays,
I PMed him to say this and he asked for a date. I replied and told him,
"as soon as I know I will tell you". He PMed me a reply and was happy with this.
Gus also told me that Stu was coming over on the 28th December but did NOT tell me why
and I assumed it was for some other reason as I was coming up to fit the coil adaptor myself.
Any way, I am still on christmas holiday and NO one has got in contact with me to see
what is going on and the next thing I know, is this thread has been posted.

Some people finish work on the 22/23rd December and dont go back until the 4th January.
Like me for example - But I am doing the odd days work here and there too.
I have a life and a family with small children and am spending time with them
if thats ok with you.

Stu,
I say this to you, if this genuinly was your only reason to go to Gus's place then it is
rather poor that Gus did not inform you the unit was not in his possesion
BEFORE letting you make your trip irespective of the reason.
Not much of a friend if this really is a true reflection of the situation as you claim.

The long time from initial purchase to NOW is NOT down to me as you are making out and this is totally an unfair comment.
The unit was ordered , made and delivered in a few days - as promised.
I only got the unit back 1 week before christmas and have the postage proof of this.
Gus has been waiting a little over 5 working days if you exclude the public holidays.
This time has been caused by the it takes for the required parts to repair this product.

The reason that the unit did not work first time cannot be 100% blamed on me as you are saying.
I do not know who fitted the unit or see the installation so cannot say one way or the other.
All I can say is that the unit WAS not working when returned to me and the warranty seal on the box was broken.
Yes, it may be possible the unit WAS faulty before fitted but all I can say is that it was fully tested before delivery.
I have sold many of these units and at least 3 passion ford users have them on their cars.
It is a shame, these people are not here backing me up but there is nothing I can do about that.

=======================================

Gus, If you want your money back I do NOT have a problem as it is your choice, let ME know.
If this is the case the get Stu to do a refund to you and I will refund Stu.

I am very sad to see that you have chosen to make a public issue of this rather than
pick up the phone or send me a PM/EMAIL or text message.
I feel that you have had NO cause to complain apart from the fact I have not called you
to give you a date when I would be in the area which has still yet to be decided.
If I dont know, how can I tell you ??

You could have stopped Stu making his trip to fit the unit as you knew you didnt have it
in your possesion and perhaps you should appologise to Stu for this wasted trip.

The facts....

1) The unit was ordered, made and delivered to MSD on time.

2) The unit was tested before despatch on my own car.

3) The time between Stu having the unit and you fitting it was not down to me.

4) When installed and found not to be working for what ever reason,
I gave all possible help over the phone but decided to recall the unit for repair.

5) The time from my recall request and receiving the unit was at least 4 weeks.

6) The warranty seal on the box was broken.

7) The unit came back to me in a non working state and I cannot say one way or the other
if the damage was done whilst the unit was in transit or during installation.

8) I have since purchased parts and repaired the unit at my expense.

9) I have offered to come at my own expense to install the unit on your car.

10) I have responded to every message/call you have made and you have never expressed any
dissatisfaction with me or the product before but you feel you must do this publically now.

I was hoping this wouldnt happen actually.. but hey...

SECS,
This is difficult to do and Gus insists that he has fitted it correctly.
(No disrespect to Gus, I only have his word on this)
Anyway, I ask for the unit to be returned along with the supplied wiring loom so that I can retest it and be sure it is ok.
Thats a bit unfair as you PUBLICALLY announced there was an unprogrammed chip in teh unit when you checked it out Simon.

SECS,
I discovered that one of the input chips has been blown up and also the guarantee
security seal has been broken
Erm.... want me to dig the quote out where you say in public on PF the chip was BLANK? Not "Blown Up" We both know that our programmers will tell us the difference between "blank" and "Dead" by recouring checksum, so you either lied first time, or your lying now... take your pick.

Now how come you have missed out the fact that you told gus by PM that you would delivery it by hand and if necessary fit it yourself: (A pm which i have)

Will let you know soon as I do"

Any way, I am still on christmas holiday and NO one has got in contact with me to see
what is going on and the next thing I know, is this thread has been posted.
As above.. you were letting GUS know... so why now say you were waiting for US to contact you? Gus and myself have both called you to try and ascertain wether or not you would deffo show, so in the end i took a calculated risk based on information you had given via Gus and made the trip as i was interested also to meet you at last, as ive told you in person. Unfortunately, you did not show and your phone was turned off. My Loss.

As for "waiting for parts", we also build electronics and i cant think of any components that Farnell or Arrow couldnt deliver next working day.

As for the warranty seal, when Gus called me annoyed it wouldnt work, after retracing his wiring with the diagram i kept a copy of, i decided his wiring was up to scratch (As i expected as i know his workmanships good) and i personally asked him to remove the cover and simply check the wiring hadnt had a tug at anytime and broken the loom away from the main unit. I wasnt aware there was any warranty seal and if that voids my refund then thats fine, please ship Gus a new unit and bill my credit card as necessary. My only personal concern here is that my customer gets the working unit he paid me for. Nothing else matters to me, least of all the financial aspect. Warranty is merely a secondary concern to me.

Bottom line is, i only got annoyed when Phil M came on here and started to try and make Gus look in the wrong and after a few beers i chose to defend my customer. I had a lengthy conversation with Phil M about it and then clean forgot about the post until you BTTT it just now.

As for the list of facts you stated, the simple fact of teh matter is this:
The customers car is not working correctly due to a part you supplied not working. This is fine, shit happens, but its unaceptable in this day and age not to have a replacement item at his door within 48hrs. Its made me look bad and now due to your broken promises its made you look bad.

To me im afraid its that simple.

And lets not be under any missaprehension here, this isnt the first time youve had me or a customer chasing you for weeks/months/years for parts under warranty is it? Gus i guess was the straw that broke the camels back. Need i go on?

Incidentally i have no interest in carrying on this argument as it does nobody anygood. But as its your right to reply, i will leave that decision up to you.

Gus has been waiting a little over 5 working days if you exclude the public holidays. This time has been caused by the it takes for the required parts to repair this product.

Id like to see that proof of postage then please Simon as i know for a fooking fact you had it back long before then, in fact, you had promised its return for 1 week before Xmas In Fact, heres some select quotes from passionFord itself: Please note the dates.......

Stu,

I notice you can read someone elses PM's (PRIVATE MAILS)
Subject for another day !!!

I never said I was waiting for you or Gus to contact me.
I said that Yes, I was going to contact Gus WHEN I new what dates I
would be in the area and your copied PM in the above post clearly says this too for all to see.
"Will let you know as soon as I do" - I think this is self explanitory english language.

I was trying to say in my first post reply .....
If Gus had a problem with waiting for me to contact him then why did he not contact me
to see what was going on ????

If you and Gus did call me and got no answer on the phone,
why did you not leave an answer phone message ???

If you knew Gus did not have the unit, why make the trip unless your
initial statment about making a special trip to do this job and blaming me
for the wasted time was not actually true.

You are implying that I have sent out faulty goods knowingly which I dispute firmly.
Not all parts used within the module are available in the catalogues you have suggested.
And if you really knew electronics you would know that some electronics parts are on
long lead times and sometimes have to bought in huge quantitys.
Farnell and Arrow catalogues do not sell every type of component ever made
If only they did - life would be simpler.
Try buying the original specification 6802 microprocessor for an L6 Ecu in Farnell.......

You have publically implied that I have caused the 3 month delay which I can
prove is not so .
I have a delivery receipt to MSD and the receipt for the delivery back to me
from Gus.
How can I be expected to respond in 48 hours if the time between these two
points is months ???

As for the statement about when I got the unit back from Gus, When I had the
unit returned,
I ordered a part and had to wait for it to turn up and the fit it and retest the unit.
This all came to a head during the week running up to xmas and therfore
ran out of time to send it out.

You say there was no waranty seal on the unit, there was...
And also, there is a serial number sticker on the unit saying
"WARRANTY VOID IF OPENED"
Do you want me to take a picture and post it up for you ???
How many suppliers would give a full refund once the warranty seal has been broken ?

You say you only got mad when someone else on here made comments and
the fact that I reminded you of it when I decided to post a reply.
This implies that you take offence for me having the right to reply.

You say things these days can be sorted in 48 hours which I can mostly agree with
but this has happened all during the XMAS holidays.
Its not that simple Stu, In case you havent noticed, nearly everyone is on holiday
and some people still are !!!!

Yes, i find it incredibly easy when they are SENT to me!
What a poor and underhand attempt to make me look bad... very poor show indeed Simon

As for the rest of your reply Simon, may i suggest you read my reply again?

I DO NOT say there was no warranty sticker.
I DO NOT say you caused a 3month delay.
I DO NOT say im bothered about your right to reply (Quite the opposite )
I DO NOT say you KNEW it was faulty when you posted it.
I DO NOT say i have a problem with warranty or refund

Your PM:
DOES state you should know Tommorrow (27th)and will let GUS know.. its timed and dated 26th FFS

I DO:
Dispute the xmas bollox, as you told Gus he would have it back on 18th at latest. You failed to do so and it had nowt to do with Xmas Simon.. simple.

Il say no more until you have re evaluated what i said in my reply as so far you seem to have read someone elses

Stu,

I think you and Gus need to re-read my replys again and your own initial posts aswell.

If I had bought an item that had a fault and there was a sticker saying
"WARRANTY VOID IF OPENED", I certainly would not open it.
If you yourself had supplied a part returned as faulty that had obviously been
tampered with would you give a refund ??
This is not an issue I will replace or refund.

You blamed me for a wasted trip which if you knew the parts were not
available and made the trip anyway this surely is your own fault !!

You say this isnt the only time YOU have chased me for parts.
This is a complete lie, you have never had cause to chase me for ANYTHING.

To date, you have only purchased from me....
Second hand P8 ecu and EsCos intercooler - delivered on time.
Coil pack adaptor - Delivered on time. ( and you posted a thread on this too )
So tell me what else is there that I have let MSD or yourself down with ???
NOTHING !

There has obviously been some miss understanding here but i think my last PM
to Gus is self explanitory.
If I did not contact him after sending that PM why was no other message sent or
voice mail left for me.
Only this thread was started in the hope I would see it IF I logged on !

As you have copied Gus's PM that I sent him I fail to see why you dont understand
the following statement.....

My message to Gus finishes with.....

"Will have a better idea whats happening tommorrow, will let you know when I do"

Gus replied with and that is the last I heard until this thread started.

What is so hard to understand about this message.

As off this point in time I still do NOT know when I am going to Leeds/Sheffield.

GARETH T, My MAIN point exactly.

If Gus had an issue, then why did he NOT PM/EMAIL/Text or left voice mail
in the FIRST instance rather that creating trouble that would be so easy
to sort out in the first place.

"WARRANTY VOID IF OPENED", I certainly would not open it.
If you yourself had supplied a part returned as faulty that had obviously been

This is not an issue I will replace or refund.

My reply states i "DID NOT KNOW" it had one, as it was 100miles away
It also states there is no problem, i fully understand now youve pointed it out, just bill me for the new one and SEND IT GUS, MY CUSTOMER. Whats confusing you?

You blamed me for a wasted trip which if you knew the parts were not
available and made the trip anyway this surely is your own fault !!
Again, ive stated my reasons why and also agreed, MY LOSS. As i said, maybe go and read my replys...

You say this isnt the only time YOU have chased me for parts.
This is a complete lie, you have never had cause to chase me for ANYTHING.
I cant decide if im happy or sad youve called me a liar knowing im not

To date, you have only purchased from me....
Second hand P8 ecu and EsCos intercooler - delivered on time.
Coil pack adaptor - Delivered on time. ( and you posted a thread on this too )
So tell me what else is there that I have let MSD or yourself down with ???
NOTHING !
Ok.. it gets better.
So you dont recall the last item i bought from you? The one i waited over 9weeks for? The one i demod to a customer and he said "Is it cheaper for me to call your supplier direcvt stu" Cos it powered up with SCC PERFORMANCE on it

Did i or did i not mail you almost every 3 days (Yes, i have the mails and your responses appologising and telling me you "Were waiting for parts") asking for the correct Bios chip for this unit? Did you or did you not take over 3months to send it to me?

Have i or have i not specifically asked you for the earth unit you have to fix customers cars with Secs units that dont correctly read the RPM? You told me you have a fix for it and will send it to me.

Have i or have i not now given up after over 9months of asking as hes now BROKEN the car and sold the secs monitor?

Please tell me again im a fooking Liar....

If I did not contact him after sending that PM why was no other message sent or
voice mail left for me.
Both GUS and Myself called you. Im sure GUS will confirm when hesees this thread. I cant vouch for Gus but i dont tend to leave messages for people as i hate answering machines

My message to Gus finishes with.....

"Will have a better idea whats happening tommorrow, will let you know when I do"
Correct. Suggesting you will call TOMORROW. You Didnt.

You dont seem to have responded to any of my points either, regards the chip being blank or the fact you lied about when you recieved the parts, or even more importantly to me, when my customer will get his parts back to fix his car.

Because, he, like many others before him, had to resort to THIS after being constantly lied to and pushed aside by you.

The problem that i personally have is that GUS's contract of sale is with ME not YOU. So when you let GUS down you have the knock on effect of making me look a twat again and again and again. Why cant you just accept this is not on and put some effort into telling the truth instead of making false promises you cannot possibly keep.

Stu,

Sorry, I forgot you had the display unit
You are bending the truth because it certainly did not take NINE weeks for you to get it.

I do not make every single thing myself, I rely on others and manufacturers
and this can affect delivery times.
We are not all rich as your company and can not ALL afford to have everything on the shelf ready to go.

AGAIN
"Will have a better idea whats happening tommorrow, will let you know when I do"
Means when I know what I am doing, I will let you (Gus) know.

I suppose all this will flare up again once Gus comes online later.

It seems that nearly all my original points you have conceeded too
but feel you must drag up my past in order to score points.
Whats next, pressing the ban button....

Gus,

PhilM,s comment is valid as you have placed the original message on a public forum
and he is giving you a valid reply when I am not online to do so myself.

I have argued with Stu at length now about all this so now I am asking you why could you not
PM/EMAIL/TEXT/ PHONE (or use answer phone if no reply)
rather than stir up all this trouble ??

The last PM I sent you was obviously mis-understood and now has escalated to
the point of no return in YOUR absence from being online.

I have re-read your original posts above and it seems you yourself,
are probally the only one who has NOT had a public pop at me.

Despite what others may say or think, I do wish to sort this out but this
may become harder the more verbal insults are traded.

Matt,
I dont make the looms myself and I passed your info on to the person who does.
I will do so again.

Phil,
I can never work out when you are serious or taking the piss

If only 1% of the promises made to me by certain "well known" tuners
were kept then perhaps I would have the resources to be as perfect as for example ... Stu.

I have been shafted so many times by certain people over the last 3 years
but I have NOT publically complained about them....yet.
To be honest if I had to rely on the Ford business for my wages I may as well
not bother.
Perhaps I only make ecu's to upset one or two "arrogant" tuners.....

ECOSNIGE, You, like most other people who "think" just because they know
me they want things for a special discount price but fail to actually show any money.

Yes you did ask me for an ecu once or twice and each time I asked for a deposit
but nothing appeared even when I saw you at the last RS owners club meeting
you ignored me totally so I assumed you were like most others - a time waster.

Even though I let you have an ECU monitor for a good discount and fitted it free
I still get sh*t from you - Just goes to show doing so called "mates" favours
just doesnt pay in the long run.
