I was hoping this wouldnt happen actually.. but hey...

SECS,
This is difficult to do and Gus insists that he has fitted it correctly.
(No disrespect to Gus, I only have his word on this)
Anyway, I ask for the unit to be returned along with the supplied wiring loom so that I can retest it and be sure it is ok.
Thats a bit unfair as you PUBLICALLY announced there was an unprogrammed chip in teh unit when you checked it out Simon.

SECS,
I discovered that one of the input chips has been blown up and also the guarantee
security seal has been broken
Erm.... want me to dig the quote out where you say in public on PF the chip was BLANK? Not "Blown Up" We both know that our programmers will tell us the difference between "blank" and "Dead" by recouring checksum, so you either lied first time, or your lying now... take your pick.

Now how come you have missed out the fact that you told gus by PM that you would delivery it by hand and if necessary fit it yourself: (A pm which i have)

I will have a better idea what is happening tomorrow.
Will let you know soon as I do"

Any way, I am still on christmas holiday and NO one has got in contact with me to see
what is going on and the next thing I know, is this thread has been posted.
As above.. you were letting GUS know... so why now say you were waiting for US to contact you? Gus and myself have both called you to try and ascertain wether or not you would deffo show, so in the end i took a calculated risk based on information you had given via Gus and made the trip as i was interested also to meet you at last, as ive told you in person. Unfortunately, you did not show and your phone was turned off. My Loss.

As for "waiting for parts", we also build electronics and i cant think of any components that Farnell or Arrow couldnt deliver next working day.

As for the warranty seal, when Gus called me annoyed it wouldnt work, after retracing his wiring with the diagram i kept a copy of, i decided his wiring was up to scratch (As i expected as i know his workmanships good) and i personally asked him to remove the cover and simply check the wiring hadnt had a tug at anytime and broken the loom away from the main unit. I wasnt aware there was any warranty seal and if that voids my refund then thats fine, please ship Gus a new unit and bill my credit card as necessary. My only personal concern here is that my customer gets the working unit he paid me for. Nothing else matters to me, least of all the financial aspect. Warranty is merely a secondary concern to me.

Bottom line is, i only got annoyed when Phil M came on here and started to try and make Gus look in the wrong and after a few beers i chose to defend my customer. I had a lengthy conversation with Phil M about it and then clean forgot about the post until you BTTT it just now.

As for the list of facts you stated, the simple fact of teh matter is this:
The customers car is not working correctly due to a part you supplied not working. This is fine, shit happens, but its unaceptable in this day and age not to have a replacement item at his door within 48hrs. Its made me look bad and now due to your broken promises its made you look bad.

To me im afraid its that simple.

And lets not be under any missaprehension here, this isnt the first time youve had me or a customer chasing you for weeks/months/years for parts under warranty is it? Gus i guess was the straw that broke the camels back. Need i go on?

Incidentally i have no interest in carrying on this argument as it does nobody anygood. But as its your right to reply, i will leave that decision up to you.
