Right lets get a few facts out here as rather than PM / EMAIL or phone me,
people would rather publically have a go in my absence from the internet as
contrary to what most may think, I do not spend all day waiting for the "FAO SECS"
type messages to appear of the forum.

==========================================

Stu (MSD) purchased a coil pack adaptor unit from myself several months ago.
This unit was not fitted to the intended vehicle and gathered dust at MSD as far as I know.
I then hear that Gus has obtained the unit and will be fitting it to his car.
About another 2 months pass and the unit is fitted to the car.
The car will not start so rightly, Gus calls me and I try to resolve things over the phone.
This is difficult to do and Gus insists that he has fitted it correctly.
(No disrespect to Gus, I only have his word on this)
Anyway, I ask for the unit to be returned along with the supplied wiring loom so that
I can retest it and be sure it is ok.
Gus says this cannot be done as the car is away (cant remember why).
After a few weeks, the unit turns up at my premises and I then had a look.
I discovered that one of the input chips has been blown up and also the guarantee
security seal has been broken.
Anyway, despite this I repair the unit after waiting for a part.
By this time it is now christmas week (22/23rd).
Gus once commented to me that I could come up to sheffield and fit the unit for him
so as there was a chance that I would be in his area over chrismas holidays,
I PMed him to say this and he asked for a date. I replied and told him,
"as soon as I know I will tell you". He PMed me a reply and was happy with this.
Gus also told me that Stu was coming over on the 28th December but did NOT tell me why
and I assumed it was for some other reason as I was coming up to fit the coil adaptor myself.
Any way, I am still on christmas holiday and NO one has got in contact with me to see
what is going on and the next thing I know, is this thread has been posted.

I have a life and a family with small children and am spending time with them
if thats ok with you.

Thats enough from me
Well,
How about we add to that the fact ive been over there hoping to fit a coilpack driver today that didnt work first time i sold it to Gus, naturally i didnt want to stay there all night.

Perhaps also add to that the fact that Simon suggested to Gus that if i couldnt make it too Sheffield for 28th, he will be in the area personally and will come and do it for him.(today on 28th)

This coilpack driver was sold to Gus by me around 3months ago, Gus fitted it correctly and it didnt work and ive looked a twat ever since and its almost cost me a friendship/customer a couple of times now as GUS understandably wants his money back or a coilpack driver, hence in an effort to rectify somewhat my friend/customer, i was driving to Sheffield (1.5hrs away) on my xmas break to fit it for him so he could enjoy Xmas without having to waste any more time on the product i sold him months ago that doesnt work

Perhaps Phil you should stay out of things you dont fully understand?

Stu,
I say this to you, if this genuinly was your only reason to go to Gus's place then it is
rather poor that Gus did not inform you the unit was not in his possesion
BEFORE letting you make your trip irespective of the reason.
Not much of a friend if this really is a true reflection of the situation as you claim.

The long time from initial purchase to NOW is NOT down to me as you are making out and this is totally an unfair comment.
The unit was ordered , made and delivered in a few days - as promised.
I only got the unit back 1 week before christmas and have the postage proof of this.
Gus has been waiting a little over 5 working days if you exclude the public holidays.
This time has been caused by the it takes for the required parts to repair this product.

The reason that the unit did not work first time cannot be 100% blamed on me as you are saying.
I do not know who fitted the unit or see the installation so cannot say one way or the other.
All I can say is that the unit WAS not working when returned to me and the warranty seal on the box was broken.
Yes, it may be possible the unit WAS faulty before fitted but all I can say is that it was fully tested before delivery.
I have sold many of these units and at least 3 passion ford users have them on their cars.
It is a shame, these people are not here backing me up but there is nothing I can do about that.

=======================================

Gus, If you want your money back I do NOT have a problem as it is your choice, let ME know.
If this is the case the get Stu to do a refund to you and I will refund Stu.

I am very sad to see that you have chosen to make a public issue of this rather than
pick up the phone or send me a PM/EMAIL or text message.
I feel that you have had NO cause to complain apart from the fact I have not called you
to give you a date when I would be in the area which has still yet to be decided.
If I dont know, how can I tell you ??

You could have stopped Stu making his trip to fit the unit as you knew you didnt have it
in your possesion and perhaps you should appologise to Stu for this wasted trip.

The facts....

1) The unit was ordered, made and delivered to MSD on time.

2) The unit was tested before despatch on my own car.

3) The time between Stu having the unit and you fitting it was not down to me.

4) When installed and found not to be working for what ever reason,
I gave all possible help over the phone but decided to recall the unit for repair.

5) The time from my recall request and receiving the unit was at least 4 weeks.

6) The warranty seal on the box was broken.

7) The unit came back to me in a non working state and I cannot say one way or the other
if the damage was done whilst the unit was in transit or during installation.

8) I have since purchased parts and repaired the unit at my expense.

9) I have offered to come at my own expense to install the unit on your car.

10) I have responded to every message/call you have made and you have never expressed any
dissatisfaction with me or the product before but you feel you must do this publically now.
