Sky retards!!
The men who installed my sky have bloody drilled a hole through the water pipe on the outside of my house!! They obviously noticed because they filled one of the holes in but couldn't reach the other one so they JUST LEFT IT!!
Trying to talk to someone who actually understands english is a frickin nightmare. I am sooo pissed off!
Has anyone had anything like this happen to them?? If so what did the company do about it? Any advice would be appreciated

I'll ask about this for you when Im at work tomorrow, and try and find out what will happen etc.
Been a while since I've dealt with anything like this as I'm in a diff dept now, but I'm sure there is a department that specifically deals with damage to property caused by the muppets that do the installs.
I'll see if there is a direct number so you can call and avoid the indian call centre (i take it that's what you meant by nobody undersanding english??)

Getting sky free for a couple of months would be good for me but because I'm renting off my mum she's having to pay to get it fixed.
What did Sky do to you?

because it's a water pipe, sky will probably pay for a plumber to come out and fix it first off, not sure what will happen with compensation.
It all really depends on what went wrong, if the problem doesnt require someone out to fix it etc, then sky will probably put some compensation on your account.
But don't quote me, the operators in cust service really dont have much contact at all with the claims dept, only transfer the calls over and that's the last we hear of it.

we had our extension built and we told them that it they would need to move the dish, which we would have to pay for, fair enough
they then didn't turn up so i was without sky for about 6 weeks
which they still charged me for
then, when the guys came out, they charged me to move the dish even thoguh sky said they wouldn't charge me for the inconvinience
the fitter still said that he wasn't going to touch it until i'd coughed up the money
needless to say, there were a lot of loud phone calls to sky until they sent me a letter saying sorry etc and here, have 3 months on us
ok, so it wasn't 3 months but they gave me 6 months at half price, which is basicly the same plus got the guys to fit the dish for free
i even got the money i'd paid for my 6 weeks without sky back as part of the deal, so i was fairly quids up at the time, if the guy had turned up in the first place i would have paid the Ł105 to have the dish put up on the chimeny with the kit and all that crap so it's their own fault

aye, some of the engineers have no clue at all like.
It's a pain for the call centre's to deal with as well when they make a mess or don't turn up, cause it can't be sorted straight away.
If your dish has to go higher, it needs to be put to a "special heights" team for insurance purposes, which takes even longer. I hate those types of call, lol.
Good that you got it sorted EVENTUALLY though.

A mate had Sky installed recently.
The cable run around inside his front room was shocking. Between staples, it was away from the woodwork by about an inch in places.
And then there are the staples... Right through the middle of the phone cable that he ran kind of twisted together with the sat cable. The socket on the end of the phone cable had bare wires showing and all sorts.
The whole thing looked like it was done by a 5 year old.
IckleMissBish, have you tried just wrapping some duck tape around your pipe? There will be very little pressure in there, so that would seal it enough for you to use until they get it sorted...

So is the rest of Britain. Notice how we're starting to see more adverts with companies saying the have all UK call centres? Because they know people are sick and tired of it. If i get someone in UK or not that i can't understand clearly and vice versa i cut them off and ring back until i get someone who can communicate in English.
I once had someone doing police style phonetic alphabet for things I WAS saying let alone them. When i asked her to transfer to someone else she said no. So down the phone went. This was my bank as well.
Good luck with the sky issue. Hope you get it sorted.
