From the adverts it looks like a lime green noseconer but the listing says rally car unless they are referring to what many may remember them by - interesting to watch either way

It's always the way - marque/brand enthusiast moan that car shows don't feature the brand/marque they're enthusiastic about, then when they do they'll moan about how it was done

I think they are turning it in to a rally car. I would love an RS2000 but it would need to be a flat front....my mate says that was a period mod and wouldn't affect the value?

What did you realistically expect ? The programs are always crap, but still worth a watch if there's nothing else on.

And how the hell did any MSA Scrute pass a car with nitrile rubber hoses passing through the passenger compartment ?

And a fuel tank with a non return valve as a breather...is not a rollover valve, and cant say much about that same hose having no clips on it.

Unless they scrutineered it at a different time when they videoed the scrutineer being there lol

And Ł1k for a bolt in cage cage and estimating another Ł1k to fit if paying labour ?

They could have got a proper weld in cage fabricated for a lot less !

I did notice the breather hose bit myself. He was saying in the event of an accident, if we roll the non return valve on the hose will stop fuel flowing out. Cut to a pic of the hose half on the breather take off with no clip holding it on lol

I do like the show though and always watch. I just take it for what it is and enjoy it. I'd rather it was an option to watch than it not existing. It's also quite amusing watching the really early episodes where Edd is really quiet and shy to the camera. Saw one the other day with a Capri where he sprayed the wing with a rattle can and it looked terrible.

Good luck to them though, they both seem like decent people when you look at their Facebook posts.

At the end of the day, like it or loathe it many still watch it and it is entertainment. And you cant but be impressed when you see repeats etc....the show has been going for a very very long time now.

And they certainly havent paid for the making of the show by selling the cars lol so it must be making profit somewhere.

Depends what you class as genuine ?

But yes they did do a BARS rally school thing, and it was for entering low level motorsport, and sold to a lady as such and she intended for her partner to use it in rallying.

So you could call that genuine, even if the MSA scrutineering seemed a bit iffy.

But it certainly wouldnt have been setting any class records, but was still only a Ł12k car, so buyer didnt do too badly out of it really.

Just watched this tonight and when the car was on the trailer you could see a repair patch on the right hand side rear quarter just infront of the wheel arch and when he delivers the car to edd there was no sign of it so it had paint before they started and there was no mention of this . It was great to see a mk2 escort on the telly
