Where they making it as a genuine rally car, or a rally replica?
Depends what you class as genuine ?
But yes they did do a BARS rally school thing, and it was for entering low level motorsport, and sold to a lady as such and she intended for her partner to use it in rallying.
So you could call that genuine, even if the MSA scrutineering seemed a bit iffy.
But it certainly wouldnt have been setting any class records, but was still only a £12k car, so buyer didnt do too badly out of it really.
