may not be much to some guys on here but im well chuffed, obviously going to the gym and eating more is really paying off ![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
as i said in the title managed to do a set of 8 reps of 100kg (then did 2 sets of 90kg) on the barbell and then moved onto free weights and done a set with the 30kg dumbells (which is the most they have on the rack at my gym)
maybe a pointless thread to some people but hay

thanks mate, well i have never taken it up properly untill the last couple of months or so, but i have done weights on and off for a year before that (which i dont think i should count as it never really did anything for me)
but before christmas i was 10.5 stone and now im 11.5 stone (well from the last time i weighed myself, which was about 3 weeks ago) but i feel a little bigger now.
im just pushing myself so hard at the gym, hurting so bad the first couple of weeks back but now im loving it, trainings just gone through the roof, i think if i spent a little more time on getting my diet sorted (as its quite bad at the mo, have the odd meal here and here) i think i would be able to quite a bit more size on.

That's very good BonusBoy... Even more so for the time you've been going. I do similair on incline, which I am happy with. Deffo' not a pointless thread. Not as if you're bragging, you're more proud of yourself than anything. You're doing good reps' too, and remember most people show their stats on a one rep max.

Impressive weight for you size. All unspotted full reps? If so pat on the back for you bud.
I am 250lbs which is about 17st9 ish and I am only benching 100Kgs at the moment due to injuries etc. Its a fair ole weight, especially for someone your size.

thanks for the comments guys ![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
and kieron, my mate spots me just incase but only leans over on the last few reps when i slow down, but doesnt help it up.
the key for me to have a very good gym session (which now is near enough every gym session) is going to the gym a little later then i used to do, so i could have a few meals before, and a strong coffee before i set off to the gym, also have 1 scoop of protein in with my water to help me through the session, this has helped me a lot lately which i plan to stick to![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
my mate i go to the gym with, may have a little bite to eat or nothing before the gym and it just shows when hes out of puff and im still banging the weights out (but that what i was doing wrong before)

Ditto^
Bonus boy no offence, but are you sure it wasnn't lb's. 100kg is bloody heavy, I cannot rep it 8 times. Infact 120kg was my 1 rep max while on cycle, and I have been training 2.5 years. I'm bang on 14stone.
As I said no offence at all, but 100kg's IS a fuckin weight
Just make sure you have a spotter, and your form is SPOT ON otherwise you may do more harm than good.

I was int he gym last night and a guy was doing 225kg. The bar looked like it was bending something serious. Had 3 guys spotting, obviously on gear cause he was huge but damn impressive never the less. Kieron, good going, I`m training around 5 years and at 15 stone now, I`m struggling with 100kg, just about get 4sets of 6 reps at it. It all takes time but it comes eventually.

fancying bench press tomorrow, I always train on my own so always use dumbells, do 47.5kg on flat dumbell press. Gonna get on smiths machine 2morow and see what happens. If I can get 120 Id be really chuffed. Still getting over food posioning a week ago (moody chicken!!) so not up to full steam just yet.
To OP, good going that, keep eating and sleeping and the mass/strength will keep on coming.

i reckon if you can do 47.5 on dumbells you might be ok with 120 on the smith machine. ime it's easier to lift bigger weights on the smith machine as you dont' have to worry about stabilising it whilst you're lifting, just push upwards!
