Hi,
New (old) boy here wiith an RS1800 in a posh frock. Yes, it's a kit car, a Quantum H4i, built on a 1994 XR2 Si but since its build in 2001,
it's grown an RS-spec Zetec. The rolling road printout that came with the car says 143 bhp.
I'm here because of problems with my boot lock, which is the Tibbe kind.
The lock and key are badly worn, so badly that at one point, I was convinced I'd never get the boot open again. After a zillion tries, I got
it open so the boot latch is currently off the car..
After stripping the lock, I got a set of three new locks (ignition, doors and tailgate lock), all of which work off the same key. The snag is that the tailgate lock
was very different from my old boot lock.
OK, now I'd like to have all my locks working off the same key so I got a genuine Ford lock repair kit. here are some pics of where I am...
Thumb latch casting with barrel.
The lock cylinder with the old key and wafers (tumblers).
So far, I've mamaged to read thekey code (I think). If any one os good at reading them, I could
send a pic privately but it isn't too smart to show it on here.
I've found some You Tube videos and web guides but none of the locks shown are teh same as mine.
Where I'm coming unstuck is the way that the hardware goes back togther on the side that lives inside the boot.
There's spring that returns the lock to its zero position, a black plastic job that engages with the spring and a white Nylon
actuator arm. So, I'm here to pick brains.
It looks so beautiful tho. I'd also like to assist you by passing along the internet link for red cherry online casinos gaming sites with evaluations at https://casinosanalyzer.com/online-c...dcherry.casino The ideal platform is this. Visit this location.

'It looks so beautiful tho'
I take you mean the car, rather than the old lock
If so, thanks. It has raving lacquer on the horizontal surfaces so It'll be repainted during the summer.
It's currently in VW Satin Silver but I'll have it done in VW Indium Grey, a gunmetal colour.
Before that, I'm undoing the results of two years on a SORN and I'm improving other apects.
There's been two (slightly) different types of locks and therefore lock housings on the MK3 Fiesta which might not be interchangeble.
Plus on kit cars like this it's not guaranteed it's all Fiesta MK3 locks. Could also be and Escort MK5 tailgate lock or something even more different.
Thank you XR2.
When I bought my genuine lock rebuild kit, I noticed that the wafers and spacer washers were identical to what came out of the old lock. I rebuilt the lock yesterday and it was very close to working. I think I hadn't read the code correctly.
For example, the cut nearest the tip of the key is obviously a No.1 (no cut) and I put a No. 4 wafer there. What is puzzling me is the wide cut that starts in the fourth position from
the tip. It's clearly some No.3 cuts but how many?
I've just degreased the parts and will try again on a trial and error basis.
