Default bufty cleaning boys

gents;

i'm not much of a bufty fan and i rarely polish a car "properly", but i've bought the Mrs a Lexus IS200. Its in need of a proper good polish to get rid of blemishes and swirl marks

so, what do you guys recommend (products) and the steps i need to take?. i dont want to be doing it for 2 days but i dont mind a few hours. Bearing in mind i have no polishing machine either, so it will be just elbow grease.

cheers

Get someone else to do it the time and cash you'll spend, you could have had a proper done job by someone who will do it right/well first time.

to wash , dry the car, the wheels etc then hand polish will take longer than you think. I,d use Menzerna polishes or Meguairs . Then use a decent hand polish pad from somewhere like Polished Bliss . I,d definately advise you to 'clay' the car before polishing though as you,ll just scratch the tiny contaminants into your paint.Hand polishing will limit what can be removed too

Or just do as he said ^^^ if i was closer i,d offer myself

if doing by hand id recommend
claying first and can use water as lube,poorboys ssr2,which can be applied by hand then some poorboys blackhole glaze over it to hide the swirls and finish with a wax like dodo supernatural,job jobbed

heres the links to stuff

id also recommend a qd,something like red mist to keep it topped up every week or 2 http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/index....&productId=540

remember use some microfibre cloths,this combo should leave a nice deep wet look finish and will take a few hours to do.its about the best you can do hand polishing and will only cost £60-£70

to do it using decent stuff you'd need a detailer and there not cheap,dont even know if detailers would hand polish,theyd prob machine polish it,so your talkin £200 upwards depending on how long they spend,a valeter would just use industrial products and would be a rush job and would do more damage to the paint than good with there sponges. would still charge £50 upwards,if you buy it yourself you can spend your own time doing it and still have product left to do it again another time.

if the topic starter was closer id have done it no problem.machine or by hand,whichever he prefered or could afford
