Default Good final machine polish?

I have just painted a new door for my sierra and bought a dual action polisher.

I have used 1500 paper to get rid of some orange peel in the lacquer and then buffed it up to a perfectly acceptable shine using G3. Could some one recommend a good fine compound/polish that I can use on my machine that will give the best finish/gloss?

G3 is quite aggressive isn,t it ? It may need refining from that stage then onto the final jewel stages . Lots of products like 3M or Menzerna would be a decent move imo

G10 to rid the scrathes left by the G3 then a final polish something like menzera to buff up after the G.

I did my bonnet yesterday with 3m Finesse-It, then deep cleanse followed by HD wax on the whole car....chuffed with it so far. Gonna try some Red Mist on top next time as advised by a lad on a local forum.

tbh credit has to go to my painter....it took over two and a half years but Im happy with what he's given me to work with Im gonna give the bonnet alittle more work then start concentrating on the sides as they've really only seen wax so far.

Heres a few pics of the door I painted, The base coat went on well but ended up with nothing but orange peel on the lacquer, so flatted it back with some 1500 paper and G3'd it.

Orange Peel.com...

Then after G3 Im pretty happy with where its at now, considering it was my first proper attempt at spraying and it was done in the back garden!!

What do ya think?

lucky it never rained lol, but seriously thats good going mate, i once painted a fiesta boot with tins in my ex girlfriends kitchen, but dont tell anyone! you do what you can with the space you have and hats what its all about. And as for the finish, you can always polish clear coat as long as there is plenty of it on!

G10 is still acompound and will leave tiny scratches you will need a final polish to bring things right

The RS2000 looks great mate. My dad used to have a heated garage at his house but has moved to dubai! Would have been perfect for painting!

After the G10 ill probably just finish it of with some meguiars stuff ive got in the shed to be honest

Thanks, and definatly! i try to do as much myself as posible, anyone can pay someone to do a job, but diong it yourself gives you a certain pleasure thats hard to describe, even if the work isnt 100 percent, thats not the point, its the doing that is what its all about. heres the wing polished a bit more...

I like Menzerna stuff and use their range more than anything else.

This is Menz PO85RD Final Finish by machine, but 203S and 106FA for slightly greater cut are both great, as is the 3.02 intensive polish for more defect removal.

The 3M ones also mentioned already are equally as capable imo. but I just prefer the Menz.

Thanks Running Detailing World does have its advantages in that I get to pick the brains of the top guys in the business, but then single stage black does always come up well....pity about it showing up all the bleedin' dust though!
