Well.. it could explain why my cossie's not on the road at the moment
To be honest..it's not that bad... they only draw about 100/150w generally..unless they are being hammered.
I'm still paying Ł30 a month for my bill.
But on the plus side... all I'll have to do is get a big pipe...to channel the heat...and i'll never have to put the radiators on

Hopefully, yours will go smoothly......do you have ADSL on the line at the moment? And, if so, what are your current line-stats?
Yup, it's with Be
I know they have had a "few" teething problems (!)... but I'm always up for being a guinae pig
I'm currently with F2S... and I would have stayed with them (as they were meant to be upgrading my exchange by the end of august), but it seems Easynet (who are handling the LLU side of things) are having problems... and when BE came up...I thought i'd jump ship...
I'm on the 2mbit service at the moment, and should have been ok for the full 8mbit with f2s/easynet llu.
My SNR is 10db and line attenuation is 19db..so I'm quite lucky that my line seems to be pretty good.
I'm about 950m from my exchange (as the crow flies), so I know it will be longer in reality (as it generally follows roads etc).. but even with a bit extra.. the chart shows I should still get some pretty good speeds.
I recieved an email from BE today, just saying they are addressing the teething problems and they are sorry for the issues people are having... and they are rolling out a new set of filters for the "be-box" for people who are having alot of noise on their line to sync at a lower, more stable speed...
I'll have to see how it goes...but for Ł24 a month (static ip).. i'm not complaining
The thoughts of having a theoretical 3mb/sec was all it took

Actually, I'd be worried about that SNR (signal-noise-ratio), as that's very low for a 2Mbps line, never mind a 24Mbps line!
Once you get down to 6dB SNR, that's when your line starts to get unreliable, as the signal just isn't strong enough to get through all the noise-interference on the line...

I know the SNR is a little on the low side, but I'm also putting in a master faceplate splitter on my NTE5 box which should help things
Otherwise i'm gonna get one hell of a long Cat6 cable and run it directly in to the exchange

Water cooling is only slighly better than top of the range fans really now some zalman fans can cool your cpu just the same at a cost of only Ł30 where it would cost over Ł100 for water cooling.. You can do Gpx cards and your cpu with the water cooling system heres a couple of pics of mine but im upgrading from the 2x256mb Geforce 7800's i have to 2x7800 512mb cards

Wey cool thread. Just built a new one, bit of a project that im going to build up on as i go along. So far got...
AMD Athlon64 3700+ San Diego
Asus A8N Sli-deluxe m board
Nvidia 6800GS 256mb g card (v impressed!)
Antec Lanboy case (good as i move it around a fair bit)
Corsair 1gb RAM
Hiper 580w psu (wicked at keeping cables tidy!)
LG 17" flatron tft monitor (full swivel/pivot action is well worth it)
LG dvd/cd burner
160GB Seagate barracuda hdd
Thats about it so far, cost me just over Ł900.
Next on the list is a decent speaker set up, and i'd like to get a duplicate graphics card and try out this SLi malarky!! Well into the games at the moment, so this set up is pretty perfect. Runs the online game im into at full fps throught (full fps being the set refresh rate of the screen).
