Used samsung galaxys are still going for £170 so its hardly "fuck all " and surely the % of people get there phones for free through upgrades or new contracts?

I never compared my Skoda to the phones? You bought up my Skoda so I merely pointed out its a good car with better residuals than you think because you are ill informed
I only said the residual prices on the pricier iphones compensate for the initial high(er) price, much like a premium brand car such as a BMW
No matter people get free handsets with upgrades/contracts, nobody is going to ignore nearly £300 resale on their old iphone when the contract ends in the current financial climate.....unless Porkie has one
Johnny B was saying how much more expensive they are to own than an 'android' but with the resale price taken into account I dont think thats true at all

I waited eagerly for the sensation to come out, was really looking forward to it from the spec.. It went back to o2 in the 14 day return period in favour of my old iphone 3gs.
I actually wanted to get away from the apple device as some things annoy me, trouble is I realised the good far out weighs the bad. It's such a slick device and so nicely built/finished, all the other wanna'be phones are poor feeling. And whole UI on the sensation was over egg'd, battery was much worse than the iphone, screen was almost unusable outside and it felt really fragile and cheap. I also had more crashes in 12 days than 3 years of iphones. I found it very frustrating trying to navigate or find things on the htc, no simple order to things.
I just don't get why some people find they need to make it their mission to slate the iphone, it's an amazing device really, nothing comes close out there. The design, software engineering and hardware quality are second to none. I just don't see how someone could hold a sensation and play with it, then play with an iphone4 and say the iphone was crap. Just turning the htc from landscape to portrait was almost enough to pi55 me off enough to kick it up in the air

I found the Iphone4 simple, but could not find why the fucking ringer would not work(looked though menu ofter menu thought the phone was broken), I had to fucking google it, it find it was a switch on the fucking side.
I find them non configureable to suit my needs, oh why oh why do it need to connect to ifucking tunes to do anything, fucking hate that.
MY s2 has ever crashed, it has slowed and fucked about, just bad app.

You also don't need iTunes, or even a computer now to make them work. Totally agree that it was a bit of a bind to have to go through iTunes for stuff. But not any more.
Looks like JohnnyB can take his phone out of his ass without too much of a problem, but yours is well and truly wedged up there!

ive just upgraded to an iphone 4 and yesterday temptation got the better of me and went out n bought an ipad2 32gb.id be more than happy with ios5 as the phone and ipad do everything i need.
You do realise how much cheaper the iPhone 4 is going to be once the 4S is released?

Had a quick look on Egay.
The Iphone 4 is going for about £350 second hand, about the Same price for a second hand S2, but I am sure the Iphone 4 prices will drop.
just been having a realy good look at the spec's of the Iphone4s.
Its the improvment it needed, looks like it just fixed all the issues the Iphone 4 had.
Better network speeds, better camera, better speed, the battery is the same though, so I assume IOS5 as better power managment?

if I was a Apple fan boy I would wait till Iphone5.

I can get a brand new iphone4 in white for £300!! Sooo tempted to flog my desire hd for one!! Never used a iphone until just over 2 weeks ago, using a iphone2 and love how easy it is to use!! 
As for the iphone 4s? It looks great, especially the siri. I would have liked to see a bigger screen though. I prefer the size of the desire hd, sensation and galaxy 2

I've got an iphone, only apple product i own and i love it.
That said, i can't help but feel apple are TOTALLY taking the piss out of the consumer and more importantly the growing number of Apple fanboys/addicts.
That said, no one to blame but the consumer for buying the phone. It'll be the same in 6 months or so time when the 5 comes out, it won't be radically different, it won't be a market changing phone, just another money maker for Apple and another fashion accessory for us.
As much as i love the iphone, i'm getting a bit fed up the way apple are doing things
I had hoped the new iphone would be a beast, something different but alas...
That said, i can't help but feel apple are TOTALLY taking the piss out of the consumer and more importantly the growing number of Apple fanboys/addicts.

If I had a Iphone 4 and my contract is about to be renewed I would leave it, upgrade IOS5 and wait till the Iphone 5 comes out, as most contracts these days are 18months you would be tied into the iphone 4s for about a year when the Iphone 5 comes out.
