Thinking of getting a ps3, but do i REALLY need the more expensive £350 60GB version? i hear the 40GB just has one or two less USB sockets and it wont play ps1/2 games? thats the only difference is it? apart from the obvious(smaller hardrive)
Also is it 20/40/60GB when you actually first turn it on or is some space took up by the operating system etc?

 

i heard the 60gb is being phased out and you know you need the biggest one available

 

i thought the first batch of 40 gig ones were as good as the 60gb but with a smaller hard drive, and then after these have sold out then they will restrict them more. What someone told me anyway

I am going for the 40gb, I dont need PS2 Compatiability as I am giving my PS2 away.

If you need more space then buy a bigger HDD. The PS3, apparently, comes with instructions on how to change it

Ethernet cable? I have them coming out of my ears (and yes I look silly )

Dont think SACD (Super Audio CD) will bother me either.

 

Adrian only other thing is you need a puka tv, if you have a shit one theres no point buying a PS3 IMO.

Just as well I have a 32" HD running at the minute. Just need a HDMI switch as I only have one HDMI socket and thats got the V+ box plugged in

 

Havent they made a plug yet that makes one HDMI socket into 2/3/4, like they did with scart?

yeah i thought you meant like a switch that you can flick between the V+box and ps3, but those look like just the job
