PcWorld, they do insist on extracting.....................
the p£ss dont they!?
I bought my currant pc from them a couple of years ago and they recently sent me a letter saying that since it was 2 years old its "probably in need of a spring clean", thats code for "isnt it about time we stole a wad of cash from your wallet"
Oh yeah and on the bottom they kindly attached some vouchers, see pic to save me typing

healthcheck 50 quid and all they do is run a few of the windows cleaning tools and remove any spyware/adware. What a joke, no wonder pcworld hasnt shut down, its because they charge the earth for half hours work and the customers are clearly guilable!

I class a PC Health Check as blowing out all the dust from all the inside of the case, running a disk defrag, thorough scandisk, spyware scan and an antivirus scan.
That would usually take a good couple of hours depending on the spec of the machine.

Don't take your pc for a healthcheck
I work for PC Service Call, we do all the desktop support for PC World, Dixons and Currys customers.
I'm not sure what they do (they should run a disk which basically has antivirus, anti-spyware and a chkdsk & memtest utility)
They normally end up blocking user's access to the internet (through norton) which we have to undo. They will also more than likely slow the pc down, and mean that you have to do a product recovery
which make's your £50 worthless.
Mind you, some stores complete them successfully
(not found one yet though)
