Default XR2i TURBO CONVERSION

Can anyone tell me what i need to do for a conversion, as i have been told that i only need to change my pistons and ECU as well as the map sensor.
Also a bit of modification to the wiring loom may be needed.
Is this true or have i been fed a load of bull!!?

xr2i bottom end ain't the same as a fiesta turbo bottom end the xr2i bottom end has no oil feed for the turbo so you would need a turbo bottom end it's not as easy as you've been told bit more to it than that

the fuel tank is the same but the pump isnt, it will need changing. Map sensor is at the back of the engine bay, should be a big black plug going into it i think. hav to ask someone else about swirl pot im not entirely sure wot they do

A swirl pot is a unit which sits in the petrol tank on the bottom . the fuel feed comes out of the pipe on the tank which comes from the swirl pot. Think of it as a holder of fuel which always has a constant supply to the pump . Its to prevent a surge although u can still get a surge if ur unlucky . Im no pro but thats what it does. Use an accumalator aswell , think this prevents any air in the fuel line .

I've found the efi camshaft quite wonderful for turbo actually.

No, not the efi.
And even othervise, Ford (and other spare part providers) does sell the same cam as a spare from 1300 to RSTs, but it doesn't mean that the cars came from factory with identical cams.
