MTX75 onto 1.0 EcoBoost or 1.6 EcoBoost?
Does anyone know if this is possible?
In the old days of CVHs and Zetecs, the gearbox bolt pattern was pretty well standard, but that started to change with the introduction of the 1.6 Zetec SE and others, so what's the deal with the modern stuff? Is there any gearbox interchangeability?
I was thinking about a possible future project that might involve either a 1.0-itre EcoBoost or a 1.6-litre EcoBoost. Partly for strength (the IB5 is obviously pap) and aftermarket ratio options, the MTX75 would suit my needs better. I just wondered if one from a 2.0-litre Duratec might bolt to the EcoBoost engines? Is there any standardisation in the bolt patterns in the more recent Ford engines, or is it just a mix up these days?

I haven't. Is it on here somewhere?
Are they low ratio enough? I thought they'd be quite high to be honest. I did wonder about buying a Fabia/Polo or similar, rather than trying to fit a different box from another manufacturer, but wasn't really sure how well the DSG would deal with the whole thing.

Might work...
The DSGs have two FD for the different sets of gears, 4.11 and 4.3s, are the variants for 1-4th, then in the mid to late 3.x for 5/6/7 still very close ratios

Certainly shifts quick enough! Have you done any running with it yet? What did you do about the clutches in your application, as presumably that would have to be custom? Do you know of any good sites to get ratio information for the various DSG boxes?
I had thought about buying one of the twin-charge Skoda Fabias (a later one that doesn't burn oil for fun!) and building something with that, rather than going for a Ford. I saw one on rallycarsforsale.net that was using the standard 7-speed DSG, but wasn't sure how good the ratios would be. I assumed they would be geared for pretty high speed like most road 'boxes.

Plenty information on Google. Plenty conversions around now.
Only 1 YB Cosworth DCT 7 speed 4wd in the world though.
My shifts are faster than that now. Down at 30ms at full load. Then nice and slow at light throttle off power.
Not used it on a rally yet. Not renewing my license again this year.
Hopefully get a test day at Anglesey though.

Interesting. I think if I was to go down the DSG route, it would be in a VAG car, rather than having to have all the conversion parts made for another engine. Will do some digging and see what the ratios look like.
Gearboxes in rally cars are a pain in the arse unless you have deep pockets.

All the conversion parts I designed and had made or made myself.
