Default Starting problem on series 1 RST

Hi. Series 1 has developed an intermittent problem with starting. Can hear fuel pump running but when I second turn the key there is nothing. No cranking, silence and very little dip in ignition lights.
Sometimes has overrun when turning off and I can remove key from barrel before engine is off.
Went to show yesterday (very wet) no problems. This morning absolutely nothing.
Dont think it is starter and battery is quite new. Could it be solenoid and if so how do I change it.
Many thanks for any help.

Put it in second gear and rock the car back and forth.then try starting it in case the starter is getting stuck.also check all your connections on the battery and starter.alternatively it could be your ignition switch on it's way out.
