Default ST Boost problem

Hi all, had my ST for nearly 4.5 years but am a new member.

I'm after some help with a puzzling problem if that's ok?

Driving to work yesterday I noticed my car was very responsive from low revs, I then noticed the turbo gauge wasn't moving, I gave it a bit of right foot and no boost at all. It was like that all the way to work, around 15 miles/20 minutes.

When I finished I looked under the bonnet to see if I could see any hoses loose etc. while I was under the bonnet I checked the oil. I then drove home and the turbo behaved itself.

It behaved itself on the way into work this morning too.

On the way home this afternoon, again it played up, no boost and it felt quite 'lumpy' under acceleration. I stopped at a shop and when I continued my journey the turbo worked again. I gave it a bit of right foot and when I lifted off the gauge went right to the maximum.

The car is a 2008 reg and is completely standard.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
