Default Boost control - Talk to me

Ok, probably getting ready to think about boost control, the car is an escort cosworth and I am in no way nostalgic in thinking I need to have air injectors, of in the case of the WR cars twin air injectors, so what is the options, something bleed off, fast solenoid that I can control, nice quick PWM.

How about one of these

Good ? yes?

What have you used? (and did it work - please nothing manual)

The MAC solenoid is pretty much the standard on aftermarket boost controllers.

Cheaper seller albeit US.

Some others prefer the Pierburg, which apparently is a little faster than the MAC.

I can see no reason to go with the expense and complication of air injectors.

after using a amal valve on my race car with poor results (boost would sway 3/4 psi until at high rpm)
I moved onto a single MSD air injector and it transformed it, perfect boost control giving me the exact boost required every time, can't recommend it enough
a fit and forget solution

Can such a valve be used with an L8 instead of an amalvalve? I still need something to control boost as well, but I would like to have the ecu to lower the boost when needed. And I also prefer the bleed off method.

If the ecu is capable of PWM'ing the output, then yes it can use a 3 port solenoid.

Likewise if it can drive air injectors, then it could also run the solenoid instead.

Morning chaps,

We Have some mac 3 port solenoids on the way, once they arrive we will be testing them in-place of an amal valve, so watch this space for results.
