Hi guys iv just brought an st170 and when I press the traction control button it dose nothing no lights come on at all. And the car spins up like ud expect it to. Could any 1 help me figure out why it's not working please as I'd like everything to work on the car thanx in advance

 

sounds like its broke so previous owner has disconected light or put tape over it. traction is not needed but the esp is linked to it which is worth having on so i woul assume maybe this is broke too but im no expert so this all i know sorry

 

This could be the whole issue is you have a abs/traction fault then the ecu will throw it into limp mode, just a thought as the 1series bm's I get at work do it when the speed sensor won't pick up the reluctor ring on the hub

 

abs has a seperate light but i would check to see if this is disconected to and eml light. they should be on when you turn egnition on

the traction /esp light is the orange wheel spinning light above fuel gauge.
abs below fuel gauge and engine managment light bottom left in orange.

 

No I don't have any if these light come in I think from just checking bi do get an orange cog kinda light above the engine light tho ?

 

did you buy from a garage?? id be tempted to look down a legal route on scumbags who disable lights.

failing that take your clocks out and see what they have done. they may have just put black tape over bulb. troubleshoot from there

 

I actually did a swap with a guy for my old saxo vtr when I test drive the car it drove lovely and still dose just has these 2 problems this and the hi rpm lack of power witch I'm looking into aswell once these problems are fixed it wil be a gd car as its got every extra available at the time including full leather recaros

 

I'm just wondering how much it's gonna cost and how long it's gotta take to sort it all out now lol
