Default smoking zvh

Hi guys, just brought a 1.8 zvh fitted it all and she smokes, i mean smokes bad white smoke, i took spark plug 1 out and its pure steam coming from it, take the rest of the plugs out nothing, funny enough its not firing on number 1 either, my question is more can you confirm that this is head gasket problems?

You win some you lose some i suppose!

Engine sounds sweet apart from that

I think the problem was chosing a ZVH, and not going full Zetec.

sounds like headgasket to me mate, if there is white smoke out the back and steam in the cylinder there is also a good chance of exhaust gas getting into the water system, take header cap off and give it a sniff see if it smells fumey

well took head off, found that because they had used bolts in the exhaust instead of studs they had pushed the back off the holes through to the water ways, so water was running up the stud and into manifold (hence smoke), but.... changed head, put studs in, new gasket, new bolts and it still smokes, take plug 1 out and it steams, start it up again, take plug 2 out it steams but not number 1????????

Any ideas???????
