Default why is clutch slipping on cosworth??

Hi guys, to cut a very long story short,iv got a stage 3 saff 4x4. Last year the clutch started sliping on boosts in high gears,no big deal. Phoned matt lewis and got suplied a LUK clutch which he says would b good 4 the job, well it wasnt! But after phonin him he then suplied me with a AP clutch plate, just the plate and i used the LUK presure plate. Job dun, until the other day it started sliping on boost slightly in 4 th n 5th! Clutch fork is releasing 100% and thers no oil contamination. Its got me baffled.i thot AP clutch wld have been more than enough, unless i need a stronger presure plate or sumthing?? What do u guys think, cheers9

sounds like either the plate or the cover is not up to the job , i used a standard motorcraft cover with an alcon 6 paddle plate and that handled 400bhp and 370 ft lb of torque didnt slip till it wore out

I think your clutch cover is not clamp the plate properly - it can't hold your torgue. your cover is not up to the job. the same was with my clutch with different covers till I bought helix HD kit. Now you need to use alcon or AP or helix cover. Better AP Havy Duty cover in your case because you already have AP plate.

The car is just stage 3. Got roling roaded summer last year at 290 at wheels. Holding about 26psi a boost. The clutch has only coverd about 1000 mile,if that! Had engine stripd down 500 mile ago due to a spun shell and when going bk 2gether clutch plate lookd perfect. Is it posible to get a stronger presure plate??
