any steel rods should be fine, i would imagine 90% of the ones out there are made in the same factory in china anyway

there were stories about some of the cheaper ones measuring badly, but i checked a few myself and they've all come up spot-on

you can get rods AND pistons from the states for Ł516 (with todays exchange rate) or rods alone for Ł220

PEC rods as listed on their site are Ł485

or these from a seller in this country:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Zetec...#ht_720wt_1163

would be absolutely fine! as i said, most are made in the same factory anyway

i'm using eagle rods, seem to be fine, taken it to 7200rpm and 20-21psi hasn't broken them yet, going for more boost soon.
revs tend to kill rods and it's likely the oil pump will give up before that anyhow.
i got custom sized wiseco pistons, eagle rods, acl big and main shells for around Ł850 including delivery and tax from the states last year.
i really couldn't argue with that.

Add shipping costs plus import tax and a outside risk of getting the wrong ones and your not far off the cost of UK ones without the hassle (if you look in the right places)

i ordered some a few years back and the import tax wasn't bad at all, still worked out way cheaper than the pec ones! the only downside is that the american zetec uses different rods and pin size to the UK ones, so you have to go with american pistons, or ones made for those rods, where as the ones i linked on ebay in this country were specifically for silver top. they also do black top ones too

there are probably cheaper ones than those, but thats all i could come up with in my 30 seconds of searching
