Hi, I've got a 03plate 1.6 petrol fusion which has just started to have cold start issues, fires up runs briefly then dies and does this over and over for a couple of minutes and then runs fine.

the engine runs and drives sweet enough and starts fine when the is still a little warmth in the engine.

there is no check engine light coming on but am thinking it could be an issue with the water temp sensor (although temperature reading is fine on the dashboard)

is there a manual way to read any fault codes on this?

any ideas as to what it could be?

car was fine today so looks like it only happens when air temp is really cold.

Anyone have any ideas? I still occasionaly have issues with this in the colder weather.
