Default Fuel Additive actually worked...

My Mondeo diesel daily has been smoking a lot on start up recently. It is blue smoke and it only does it first thing in the morning from cold and if left all day and then started from complete cold. I put a thread up on here a while ago and a few suggested it might be injectors (600+ quid for new ones). So I put it off and it was getting really bad up to the point where it was struggling to burn it off and stalling.

I was then clearing out my shed and I found a bottle of Millers diesel additive that I used to put in my van after a recommendation a few years ago. To my complete surprise it has totally eliminated the smoke, I couldn't believe it at first but after 2 weeks the smoke has not returned. So I thought I would put this thread up and if anyone else is having the same problems it might be worth trying before shelling out for new injectors.

I knew someone would say that Ben but 100% nothing to do with them. Just thought if someone had a similar problem it MIGHT be worth a go at under a tenner...

We use forte treatments at work, we get loads of diesels that fail emissions, we change the air filter, add the diesel treatment, razz down the road and most of the time, the emissions
Are halved.
My 05 St tdci with 156k on the clock, de catted and egr deleted doesn't register!

I was using premium fuels in my Focus but when the price of diesel started to drop the price of premium diesels seem to stay high.
I've filled up with Murco diesel and the car sounded a lot more coarse than it did on BP Ultimate.
I started adding Millers Ecomax in generous doses to Tesco diesel and it runs as well as it did on BP Ultimate.

I used to put two stroke oil in the fuel of my previous diesels but unsure if it is DPF safe which makes me a bit nervous about putting it in my Focus.

I had the forte stuff when I had my garage, was pretty good gear. I've always been a fan of the stp stop smoke (now called oil treatment) sold a few shitters on thanks to that lol

Put some comma diesel magic in my a6 at the weekend as was getting smokey when cold or when it was booted, 200k on the clock with most it's life on cheap supermarket fuel and barely a whif from the exhaust was very impressed! I did chuck the lot in the fuel filter mind rather than diluting it in the tank. A tenner well spent I reckon!

I have ran my 06 plate Mondeo ST TDCi on a 2 stroke mix on and off for the last year, definite improvement with the 2 stroke in the tank

I've not heard of adding 2 stroke before, what improvements do you see with this?

Has to be mineral 2 stroke, not the synthetic stuff. There are a few threads on here about it, worth a look.
