Thank you Martin and Botters
Will have a look tomorrow and try and get this sorted, always seems to rev up in the middle traffic and clouds of black smoke for and instant, a bit embarrassing but would like to sort it ,
Thanks again

Is it a diesel, and when you say it revs up, does it rev flat out, black smoke and knocking from engine?
If so -There is a capsule on the diesel pump with a long thin pipe that's connected to the turbo, inside the capsule there is a diagphragm, if it splits it can suck diesel through the pipe straight into the turbo

I have senior moments here in France. OK so where do we find this Diaphram any pics. and how do I rectify the problem,
I am sure there was an issue on this forum 18 months ago or more but I cannot find it,
Any suggestions please

It's called a 'boost capsule' - from memory, it's not available from Ford, but seem to remember having one done by a local diesel specialist. CF Parkinson in Boston, Lincs.

Disconnect/block the pipe as a temporary measure.
