Default Engine change - 1.8 to 2.0 Zetec

Car is currently mapped on megasquirt for a 130spec 1.8 zetec, obviously the 2.0 will be an extra 200cc. I know it would need to be remapped to get the most out of the extra capacity but should it still work ok? The car was mapped by totd and only reason for changing engine is worn valve stem seals / rings. I will go throttle bodies once funds permit

The MAF sensor should recognise the increased airflow and increase the fuelling accordingly. It shouldn't need remapping at all as long as you use the same injectors.

will need tweaks to the map, but nothing major.
it will run, just stay off high/full throttle till you've got it right

Can you explain why please? I know this would be the case with the Ford ECU so how is Megasquirt different?

just because the 2.0 will draw in more air, the way it combusts will be slightly different, also ignition timing will be slightly different.
more to it than airflow fuelling adjustment.
if it had a wideband lambda installed and given authority to correct, then you'll be fine.
as i said, won't be far off.

the megasquirt will not use MAF sensing, probably just throtle position (alpha n) or maybe map sensing.

correct, it is posible to wire up the maff and do away with the map, but ive never heard of it being done and see no good reason why it should be done.
